It was pretty neat in my opinion to be driving into our new home state on New Years Day. What an adventure we are about to embark on as we settle into our new home. A new year and new beginnings!
Luckily we had some more friends along the way that we got to stop & say hi to. Luke & McKenzie Wendt live in Amarillo. We haven't seen them since they moved away from Florida the year before. Doug was pretty determined on arriving to Dallas before it was too late, so we only had time to meet them for lunch. And where better a place to let the kids play & the grown ups talk then Chick-Fil-A?!
So fun hearing about their adventures in Amarillo & catching up on everything. We miss this family a lot! In fact, the boys didn't want to say goodbye to McKay. Haha!
After another long leg of 6 hours we finally made it to our new home! Obviously this isn't a current picture as there should be snow all over the ground.
It's going to be weird settling into a new place where we don't know anyone. Thank goodness we have each other. And with the Lord on our side, I know everything is going to be just fine.
