On July 11th we remembered that it was FREE Slurpee Day at 7-Eleven. We made sure to stop by & get our drinks while out & about. Yum! And score, they had a sugar-free one that was tasty & less likely to put my kids into a sugar high. :)
Doug always plays great with the boys, but there are times he gets what he would call 'fun & creative', but I'd say it was more 'rough & crazy'. Here he is throwing my baby around like a rag doll. Yikes!
Good thing Liam liked it & kept asking for more. Even though you'd never guess that by his expression.
We were out & about running errands one night & decided that breakfast for dinner would hit the spot. So we stopped in to Denny's & just so happens there was a balloon guy there making shapes/character etc for the kids that ate all their food. When Gavin asked for Spider Man I quickly told him, "No. Pick something else that he can make." And to my surprise, the man quickly corrected my saying that he could indeed make a Spider Man. I felt bad if he took offense to my comment, I just couldn't imagine how he'd do it. Apparently he's been mastering balloon shaping for like 8 years. My bad, my bad.
Seroiusly, check it out! How cool is that? It's a Spider Man that goes on your wrist. I was in awe watching him create the whole thing. Gavin loved it!
Liam liked his turtle too!
Just goofin off wearing Dad's snorkel mask.
Doug & I decided to try a new exercise program that we'd heard great things about. A friend of mine from Buffalo is a Beachbody coach & she started a challenge group using this program. It's Shaun T's new program called Focus T25. It's a 10 week program of only 5 days a week with 25 minute workouts.
We are so stoked to have something that we can do together in the mornings before he leaves for school.
Along with the nutrition guidelines we have also added a new protein drink to our meal plans. It's called Shakeology. It's nutrient dense, superfood-packed protein shake that you use to replace one meal a day. It has over 70 natural ingredients full of nutrients, vitamins & minerals. Kinda crazy how much they have in there & it actually tastes really good. :)
My
favorite recipe is: 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup almond milk, 1 banana, 2 TB
PB2 (my new obsession that the moment- pnut butter powder with 80% less
calories), 1 scoop of chocolate shakeology, add ice & blend. I feel
like I'm cheating with dessert for breakfast every day. Yum!
Us all sweaty after one of our T25 workouts.
I don't know how this kid gets into everything, but he does. He must have walked right past me too as I was in the kitchen right by the laundry room. Silly boy! I heard him making "yuck!" sounds so I went to check on him. This is how I found him. Good thing he didn't like it. Who knows how much we swallowed.
My handsome boys & their summer haircuts.
A new family moved into the ward that has a little boy who is right between Gavin & Liam. His name is James. His mom, Heather invited the boys over for a playdate one morning. They had a good time, but I think their favorite part was when they got to have suckers!
Every Tuesday night at Plantation Heritage Park there is a Family Food
Truck Night. We've only been a couple times, but we sure enjoy trying
new places for dinner. Plus with the music & bounce house it's a fun
night for the boys too.
Couldn't help but snap a picture of these cute & clean boys in their towels. I can't believe how big they are getting!
Mall Activity - Face Painting
This is how I found them standing in line. Melt my heart! Love these brothers.
Gavin asked for a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle & Curly Sue delivered. How stinking cute is he? It doesn't even look like Gavin though. Crazy how a little paint can change a face. And Liam asked for Elmo. I'm not quite ready to let his face be painted as I'm sure it would turn into a big smeared mess. So as long as he's content with the arm, we're good. :)
We went to the library with some friends to check out some new books. These boys were having way too much fun drawing in their Summer Reading note pads.
{McKay, Gavin & Owen}
Quinn & Liam were busy eating the snacks & running around. :)
Gavin is liking his swim lessons still & is getting better & better. Although, he's still a 3 year old & has a hard time listening to his coach at all times. His coach puts the kids on the wall in 'time out' when they are not doing what they are supposed to or not swimming the right way etc. By the time I snapped this picture, it was his 3rd time sitting out on the wall. Boy do I love paying for time outs. :) However, I do love that his coach does this. He's pretty stern with Gavin when he needs to be & it's just what this kid needs.
Gavin out riding his bike for me.
