Our Family

The Shaw Family

Doug & I were married on October 6, 2005 in the Salt Lake Temple. We are currently living in the Dallas, Texas area. We have two sons, Gavin Douglas born September 18, 2009 & Liam Robert born October 14, 2011. We are so happy to be a family of four & love our boys so much! It is always one adventure after another in this house.

Random May Happenings

{May 10, 2013}
The boys LOVE being outside! And they love it even more when they get to play in the water.

  Liam sat here by the source for forever just sippin up some nasty water.

 So we headed off to the pool & had some real water fun!
Aunt Laura was nice & played with the boys so I could lay out for a bit & get some sun.

 My view is pretty sweet.

 Don't do it Liam! Don't do it! haha.

 My little fish

When walking out in the yard we saw this baby bird just tweetin away. The boys thought it was pretty cute, but we made sure not to touch it or get too close. We could hear mama bird up in the tree. It must be flying lessons day or something. :)

Doug went deep sea spear fishing with a professor & some friends all day Saturday. Laura & I decided we would have a beach day with the boys. So we headed to Dania beach. It was raining when we got there, but thankfully it passed quickly & turned out to be a beautiful day.

 The waves were pretty big so we didn't do much playing in the water. Thankfully the boys love the sand & spend most of their time digging anyways.

{Random Days in May}

 We go swimming with friends once or twice a week which is always fun. These kiddos were all sitting along the window & I thought it would make for a cute picture. However, my two boys would not cooperate for anything. I still think it made for a cute picture though. I can't help but laugh. It's these moments that capture the 'realness' of life. Not every moment can or will be picture perfect.

We were outside in the backyard when Doug asked Gavin if he thought he could climb our tree. Gavin quickly jumped on the opportunity but in the end needed Dad's assistance. Once we was up & hanging out Liam just had to be a part of this monkey business too.

On a Saturday morning we took the boys to Sawgrass to ride the air boats & see the animals. These two were brave enough to hold & touch a baby alligator. So cool!

 My sweet Liam

 We got to babysit Hayden one morning & these two played so well together. They are only 4 months apart & are the cutest, loudest boys around. :)

 I finally tackled a project I've been wanting to do for a long time. Organizing my gift wrapping supplies has created so much more happiness in my life. Haha!

 This little guy has become quite the picky eater. Sometimes he'll eat, sometimes he will flat out refuse whatever it is in front him. Drives me BONKERS! So I busted out some toothpicks for him to use instead of his fingers or fork. It did the trick & he gobbled up that cheese. Yay! Too bad it won't work for long. Why do they catch on to your tricks so quickly?!

Gavin & Liam love to dress up. We don't have much of a selection, but they get creative & have a ball regardless. Liam came out sporting this look below.

 My super hero frenchie flexin his muscles. Oui Oui!

And because I couldn't stop laughing & giggling about Liam's attire, big brother Gavin had to take a turn being a french superhero. Only he made it better by actually flying off the couch. These boys crack me up! Gotta love his look though. French spiderman, superman hero!
