For my sister's birthday I wanted to treat her to lunch just the two of us. Lisa was sooo nice to babysit the boys for me & man alive, it was heaven. To be able to have a full conversation from start to finish without being interrupted by children was fabulous.
She chose to eat at Sweet Tomatoes which is a so yummy. I don't know why I forget about it when it comes to choosing places. I just love the salad bar. And...the soft serve ice cream. :)
That evening we celebrated with everyone once Doug got home from school. Laura took Gavin to his swim lessons so that I could finish up the dinner preparations without her being present.
I made her favorite dish which is my mini meat loaves, garlic mashed potatoes & broccoli. She was doing this 'no eating flour' thing for a couple months so I made her a chocolate flourless cake for dessert. You just have to have cake on your birthday.
It turned out very pretty & very tasty! Not so much cake like, but more fudge like I'd say. Delicious.
We sure love Aunt Laura & are so glad that we get to be near her for her birthdays for a couple years. It's much for fun celebrating with family.
That weekend we had a little GNO for her birthday with some of her friends. We ate dinner at TGI Fridays & then went back to her place to chat & munch on goodies.
Horrible quality of picture. I really hate my iphone camera indoors/dark lighting. Boo!

I think it's safe to say that she had a pretty good birthday.
