Color Mania 5K

For those that know me, know that I am not a huge runner. I do it for exercise, but that's all. I've never in my entire life EVER had the desire to run a marathon or a half marathon for that matter. In fact it wasn't until last year that I ever even ran a 5K. It was the Mud Run & I had a blast! These kind of races I can do. The fun, low key, non intimidating races that hold no pressure to perform a certain pace or finishing time. So I was thrilled when a friend found a coupon deal for the Color Mania 5K in Miami.

{Saturday April 13, 2013}

{Lisa & I in the car on the way there. Getting excited!}
There were only four of us that ran the race, but we had a ball. We got there early, but we should have known they wouldn't start on time.

 {Lisa, Me, Wendy & Jessica}

While we were standing around waiting for the race to begin we decided to open up our color packets & start the color fun right there at the start line.

 I guess I just didn't want any of that beautifully awesome color to go to waste.

 You'd think we just finished the race, but we have yet to begin. Ha ha!

 Lisa & I lost Wendy & Jessica right at the beginning because I saw my boys cheering me on on the side so I wanted to run by them. We never found them during the race so it was just me & Lisa the whole time. Which I loved! She is a fantastic running partner & we matched pace together very well.

  They had random color stations along the race where you ran through a line of people spraying you with color. We would hoot & hollah before hand to let them know we wanted it good. You don't want your mouth open when running through those. Yuck! We were spastic & we loved every minute of it.

As we approached the finish line we saw your kiddos up ahead. Tynley & Gavin started running towards us & joined us crossing the finish line.

 Gavin wouldn't let me pick him up, but he was okay with holding my hand. Can't really blame him on that one.

 Gavin giving me a high five for finishing the race!

 Love my boys! It really meant a lot to me that Doug brought them to come support my silly race. I felt very loved.

Doug DID NOT even want to stand next to me for a pic. How rude!

I love how the at the start of the race we were bright & purrdy, but after sweating profusely we just look nasty. Haha!

 I just love the left picture! We are such dorks, but I love that about us. I'm lucky to have Lisa as a friend who will do these wild & crazy things with me. :)

 Wendy came in next so we snapped another picture. I couldn't resist posting this simply because of Lisa. Check out that face & pose! tee-hee.

We all were able to cheer on Jessica as she came through the finish line. This really was so fun & I cannot wait to sign up for another fun race.

We hit up Jamba Juice for a post race treat. YUM!

Such a fun way to start off a Saturday.
