Gavin just finished up his 3rd session of swimming lessons with the Just Swim School. We had him with a new coach this time & he did a lot better with him. The previous coach was too nice & a little bit of a push over. Gavin loves those kinds, but often won't listen to them. Coach Jeff is more assertive & doesn't really put up with much which is great for Gavin. He needs structure & consistency & someone that won't let him get away with stuff. What stuff you ask in swim lessons? Oh just that he is a fish & can't hold still. So this session has been great as Gavin is getting better with sitting on the steps when it's not his turn, keeping his ear above the water so he can hear his coach. As far as technique is going, Gavin is using his big arms, turning to his back to take a break/breath & has been working on the back stroke. He is really good at holding his breathe & will stay under water for soooo long. It always makes me nervous, but he loves to do it!
He started out the session being the only one in his class, but about half way through our cute friend Maia from his last class joined in. Her parents said she was just having the hardest time in her class & would cry & cry. Turns out, she was missing Gavin. She was asking & crying for him so her parents finally just switched her to his class. The minute she saw him she did just fine in the water. Isn't that something?! My little man is quite the catch!
Here he is with Maia on the podium receiving their medals. So proud of him!
I asked Gavin to stand still so I can get a picture, but this kid was sooo hyped up from the 'ceremony' that it was a difficult task. As you can witness from what I got...
Finally a normal one once Maia is in the picture. :)
I LOVE that they take underwater photos of the kids for the parents. Such a sweet boy I have.

He sure looks like he enjoys his swim lessons and love the photo of his face underwater. He's very brave!
