The Shaw Family

Doug & I were married on October 6, 2005 in the Salt Lake Temple. We are currently living in the Dallas, Texas area. We have two sons, Gavin Douglas born September 18, 2009 & Liam Robert born October 14, 2011. We are so happy to be a family of four & love our boys so much! It is always one adventure after another in this house.

Camping

We went camping with our friends the Rhodes & Steels the first weekend in November. We went to Markham Park which was literally 8 minutes from our house. Doesn't sound like real camping right? Well it was perfect for us. You really did feel like you were away from the hussle & bussle. The weirdest part for us was that we camped on grass. There was no dirt. Not what we were use to, but we did not complain. It was fantastic that the boys did not get as dirty as they would have in dirt. :)

We got the fire going as soon as we got there so we could cook our tinfoil dinners.

Oh yes, and the peach cobbler. Can't forget about the dessert!

Liam had fun, but wanted to only play with the fire. So that made me super paranoid as we had to watch him like a hawk. Thankfully no accidents occurred, but we had some close calls with all the babes.

 Owen & his dad Tyler
Loving their silly faces. Check out Owens tongue. Haha!

I think they are being scary monsters. Silly boys. Gavin had so much fun playing with his buddies.

Eating our yummy tinfoil dinners. Everyone's turned out perfect. No scorched packets or burned food. Yay!

Brittany, Tyler & Colette (missing Owen)

You can't go camping & not have s'mores. "S'more of what? You're killing me smalls!". haha!

 I enjoyed every bite!

Around 8:30 or 9:00, Gavin came to us & said he was tired & wanted to get in his jammies. We were shocked! He went right to sleep in the tent & did great all night long. Liam on the other hand was another story. He went to sleep just fine, but after a few hours some noisy teenagers came screaming right by his tent & woke him up. Gosh darn those kids! Doug went over & got after them saying we had sleeping babies & that they needed to go back to their camp. When he returned I turned to everyone & made the comment, "When did we become those old people?!".  ha ha!  Well after many attempts to get Liam back down & even letting him sit with us around the fire for another hour, nothing worked. He just screamed & cried for what seemed like forever. Doug & I couldn't take it anymore & didn't want him to wake up the other kids so I just took Liam home. Being so close, it wasn't a big deal. So Liam & I ended up sleeping great in our nice soft beds & then joined the crew again in the morning.

Doug made his famous hungry man dutch oven breakfast which is SOOO good! Can't you tell by Brittany & Tyler's faces? haha!

Sitting by the fire to stay warm

Gavin is such a sweet boy. He was sitting at the table eating his food when I noticed his tiny little feet were crossed. I don't know why but it sure touched my heart & I had to capture it in a picture.

The boys were taking the kids to go fishing so they all started prepping their gear after breakfast.

  Mason, Tanner & Drew

These boys were so excited to go fishing with the dads. Here they are all ready with their poles.

 Just chillin in the boat.

After they left us moms started cleaning up a bit before heading to the playground with the babies.

 Liam, Hayden & Colette
These three were all born with in 8 months of each other. So fun watching them interact together.

I LOVE this picture! Seriously so fun seeing all the personalities of everyone's families. We had such a fun time & thought it was pretty darn cool that we were camping in November. Can't wait to do it again when Liam is a little older. :)
