Our last time hosting a BBQ
We felt it only appropriate to host one last BBQ before graduation with our fellow LDS classmates. It's crazy that 4 years ago we were all strangers arriving in Buffalo & now we are leaving as friends & colleagues . As similar as our journey was we all had many different challenges, experiences, relationships along the way. We are so grateful for this group of friends that we were able to connect with through out our dental school experience.
Doug manning the grill
Me manning Liam :)
The cute desserts for our graduates to be. I love the little diploma cookies that Katie brought. So creative!

Our last visit to Niagara Falls
On our drive to the falls we tried to count how many visits we made over the last 4 years. We got to 13 & then lost track. As many times as we've been, you just can't get sick of this place. Every time we go we are in awe over how magnificent the falls are. They are so breathtaking! I will greatly miss being this close to such a beautiful place.
Our little picnic lunch. Gavin had a ball feeding & chasing the birds. I did have video but for some reason can't get it download :(
Our last Playgroup
This was a day every week that Gavin & I looked forward to. The kids love to get together & play. The moms love to get together to chat & enjoy adult interaction. We will greatly miss all of our friends from playgroup.
Our last trip with the Evans Family
Indoor Waterpark
We have done all our big trips with our friends the Evans'. We went to Boston, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Seneca Lake, camping, etc. They really are the best travel buddies. So we had to get in one more little getaway before graduation. This was however just a day trip as it was getting too close to 'the end' to really go stay anywhere. Steph & I had bought Groupons for this place a long time ago, but just never got around to planning it. So we set aside the packing for a day of fun & off we went to Niagara Falls, Ontario.
We had never been to an indoor water park
before so we were pretty excited. This place was awesome!
There were
only a couple slides that Gavin was able to go down, but he had a ball
just running around & playing in the water.
Liam even had a great
time too!
Our last time eating buffalo wings at Duff's.
This was hard on Doug. Duff's has become his favorite place to eat. I wonder how he'll ever manage without it. ;)
Doug's parent's JoDee & Steve & my boys
We felt it only appropriate to buy Gavin his very own Duff's shirt so that we can remember all the yummy wings we've eaten. :)
Our last time devouring the most scrumptious donuts on the planet.
Birthdays just won't be the same anymore without Paula's Donuts.
Our last Sunday dessert night
I don't really remember when it started becoming ritual, but some time ago we starting getting together with the Evans' and/or friends to have dessert on Sunday evenings. It was always nice having that to look forward to since we didn't have family to be with on Sundays like we did back in Utah. Our last Sunday was actually Mother's Day. It was a busy day with church & the emotions of saying goodbye to many there. And then with the ongoing of SO MUCH TO DO, but we just couldn't resist making the time to have one last dessert night. We managed to fix up some pazooki's with both of our kitchens mostly packed & they were yummy! Doug busted out Kan Jam one last time.
Gavin & Collin decided to get involved in their dad's game. Too funny!
Nothing like a little intimidation for the opposing team right?!
They had a blast playing with Grandpa Bear as Collin would say. AKA G'pa Shaw.
And who says Kan Jam is only meant for frisbees?
Goodbye BBQ
Josh & Liz McPhee were so sweet to offer a goodbye bbq for us & the Evans'. It was the night before we moved. We had spent the entire day packing, loading the truck, sweating, packing, cleaning, sweating, you get the idea. It was SO nice being able to take a break & join our friends for one last get together. It was a little hard for me to be my normal chatty self as I wasn't too sure what to talk about with my friends. The every day banter didn't really apply for me anymore. It was nice to just sit back & take it all in how wonderful Buffalo has been to us. This past year has been by far the hardest & best. Hard because SO many of our close friends left last year & I wasn't really expecting much for the 4th year other than the perk of having Doug around more. Six wonderful families moved in last summer that we have had so much fun getting to know over the past year. It's so amazing to be able to make such good friends in such a short amount of time. All of these families will be greatly missed.
Quite the party! Love the puff balls & chalk board banner.
These two were caught dipping their suckers into someones beverage. Yuck!
Steph & Kate gettin their drink on! ha ha!
Natalie, Chanda, Jen, Me & Mallory
The kiddos were rocking out & dancing to the music.
Check out this group!

Last Girls Night
That same night was the Bachelorette premiere of Emily & I just couldn't resist having one last night with my girls. I sure am going to miss these girls nights getting together chatting away, eating yummy treats & laughing together. This was something I always looked forward to. And I just have a feeling that these sort of things don't really happen in the real world. I love these girls more than they know!
