Happy Birthday to...ME!

I celebrated my 28th birthday on November 1st & I'll be honest, I wasn't too thrilled about it. I was however so happy to have my mom & sister in town. Birthdays never get celebrated with family anymore since we live so far away. So it was a real treat! Speaking of treat, we continued the tradition of having Paula's Donuts for breakfast.

YUMMY!!!

We spent the day just hanging out at home & then when Doug was done with school we went out to dinner to Cheesecake Factory. Steph was super nice & insisted on watching Gavin so we could actually enjoy dinner. Right she was too! It was fabulous not having to have a 2 year old to look after. Thanks Steph!

Dinner was delicious! I tried a recommendation from Steph & I'm so glad I did. Probably one of my new favorites. The Caramel Chicken. You've got to try it!

My sister Laura & my mom
Thanks for spoiling us all for my birthday mom!

Do you like my scarf & necklace? I know you can't see it very well, but it was my gift from my sissy & I love them!!!

Of coarse we got cheesecake, but we were too stuffed to eat it there so we got it to go. I always want to try something new, but always end up with the usual favorite. Chocolate Raspberry Truffle. yum!

My family left the day after my birthday :( But thank goodness for friends. Steph had a bunch of my girlfriends over to have dessert & girl chat in honor of my birthday. wahoo! I love when celebrations get to last more than just the one day. :) Steph is a great friend. She made me the best home made cheesecake in the world! Seriously, it is way better than the previously mentioned Cheesecake Factory. And I know it is a LOT of work so I felt pretty darn special that she was willing to make it for me. :) It was a much needed girls night & I was thrilled to be there, but as the time went on I kept getting more & more exhausted. Sadly, I was the first to leave my own party :( But I did make it til midnight! Thanks friends for helping me celebrate.

That pretty much makes a great birthday right? Well it continues you see. Saturday Steph took me out to lunch to the Olive Garden. Who can resist soup, salad & breadsticks?! Not us. :) She was too nice as well because when I was asked what I wanted to drink & I replied with a water, she looked at me & said, "You're not going to get a Shirley Temple?!" So we both ordered one & savored every sip. I know, lame Mormon non-alcoholic beverage, but I think they are so tasty!

On our next date night, Doug took me to the mall in search for some new boots. I've been wanting some brown rider boots so bad! Well we looked in store after store & they all were super pricey & I didn't love any of them. Well we finally found some that I do love. I love the color, style & most of all the price! Who can beat $20.00 for boots?
So turning 28 wasn't such a bad thing after all! However, I'm not looking forward to the next two birthdays. 30 just seems so old!!!

The Paula's donut pic made me drool and I would do anything for a trip to the Cheesecake Factory on my birthday! Happy birthday good friend! It's good to see it was a good one!
