I began preparation for Halloween in September as I knew once I had the baby that I would get absolutely nothing accomplished. I was right too! ;) I really wanted Gavin to be Barney since he has been obsessed with him for the last year. Well there was no such thing as cheap or affordable when it came to that costume. And I wasn't about to attempt making one either. But to my advantage Gavin has stopped demanding Barney as of late so I was in the clear for something different. I don't know about all of you, but I have quite the addiction to Pinterest & saw so many cute costumes for kiddos. I found one that I loved & decided I could & would make Gavin his Halloween costume this year. It really wasn't that much work & it all came together perfectly. I'm so thankful for online sewing tutorials etc. I'm so not crafty on my own, but can generally duplicate things pretty well. :) Anyhow, here is our big boy in his....
Chicken Costume!
I made everything! His hat, feather shirt, leggings & feet. For sure the cutest chicken I've ever seen. :) |
Best Buds!
{Sean the Sheep aka Collin} Cute little farm animals!
The cutest toughest American Gladiator 'BlowOut'!
That night we had the Evans over for soup dinner & then we got the boys ready to go Trick or Treating. I just had to post the following two pictures even though they are blurry because these two kids could/would not hold still! They were super hyper before even getting any candy. :)
Here the munchkins are in action. They caught on pretty darn quick that all you have to do is look super cute, say trick or treat & hold out a bucket & you will get candy. Collin got it a little more than Gavin did. It was hysterical watching him run as fast as he could from house to house. He biffed it a few times too, but could care less cause he had a mission. MORE CANDY!
Everyone loved Gavin's costume! However, he was mistaken multiple times for a GIRL! What?! I tried not to let it bother me, but it did. Oh well.
As soon as we got back home he ran into the family room, plopped down on the floor & dumped out his pumpkin bucket to check out his loot. I would have to say that Halloween was a hit this year! It is so much fun having a child that actually gets it ya know?! Now I'm really excited to see how he is for Christmas this year. :)
