Our Family

The Shaw Family

Doug & I were married on October 6, 2005 in the Salt Lake Temple. We are currently living in the Dallas, Texas area. We have two sons, Gavin Douglas born September 18, 2009 & Liam Robert born October 14, 2011. We are so happy to be a family of four & love our boys so much! It is always one adventure after another in this house.

Blah Blah Blah

The title of this post pretty much sums up how it's been around here as of late. We all have been fighting colds & are finally on the tail end of it, but why do they have to linger for so long?! Seriously I think I've had a stuffy nose for over a month now. I don't even remember what it feels like to breathe through both nostrils. For pete's sake. I HATE winter! Seriously, when is spring going to come? I just want so desperately to take Gavin to the park & go on walks & just be outside. He to would love nothing else. We have definitely reached the 'cabin fever' point at our house. Sorry to be such a Debbie Downer.

I was looking through my camera & there haven't been any new pictures taken. So this is a picture free post.

Other than that, Doug has been studying for midterms day & night. He has them all the way up until he leaves for his school BOCA trip next week. I brought it up that he gets to leave in a week & his response while complaining was that it sucks that he has a midterm the night before he leaves. I didn't respond right away because I was just staring at him. Really? I don't feel bad for you Doug, you get to leave for 2 weeks & spend your entire time in Figi & Tonga. He is one lucky guy who has the best wife ever for letting him go without her. :) He gets to go to Tonga to do some volunteer dental work. This is the closest he will be to returning to his mission (Samoa) so he couldn't be more excited. Actually, I am really excited for him, just a little jealous that's all.

The nice thing for me is that I get to have my mom come out for a visit while he is gone. Yay! So as boring as our days have been this month & I haven't had a ton to blog about, that will all change shortly. Hopefully I can just get Doug to promise to take some pictures while he is gone.

I feel ya lady! I realized I hadn't taken any pictures for awhile and I about died! The blah weather makes us be bums and not do anything! I didn't even see your valentines post till now. You are so cute! I hope to be as prepared for fun "events" like you some day. You always are on top of it! I miss you like crazy!

Yes I'm starting to get over this weather for sure. I almost braved taking Elsie for a walk today while Maia was at school but didn't know if we would have gotten very far so I put her down for a nap instead:) How fun to have your mom come while Doug is gone...nothing like having family come visit!

Cabin Fever is hitting everyone about now. I am trying to figure a way to get out of Salt Lake and find some SUNSHINE! We do know spring is coming though. The snow storms don't stay on the ground as long. Tell Doug to have a great time ( Wally is jealous he liked it there when he lived in Tonga) and I'm jealous because of the girl time you get with your mom - enjoy:)

Well I can't say I'm looking forward to the guy's being gone but at least we'll have some fun girl time while they're away! So nice that your mom is coming. Sheila is the best :)

I know, it has been a long, long winter but spring will come - it always does!
We had 14 inches of snow when we woke up this morning (Mar 8) but it is melting pretty fast which is a sure sign spring is around the corner. Looking forward to our visit - can't wait.

We're feeling the same in Sandy. We got sixteen inches of snow Monday-Tuesday but it is melting fast. Sinusitis reins and even though Danny gets a spring break this month, I don't. We love you guys and I'm the jealous one that Sheila gets to come visit.
