Valentines Day for us was pretty spread out over the entire weekend. Which I must say was pretty fantastic! Friday night was our babysitting swap night so we took advantage of that & went out to dinner to celebrate. We went to the Shogun Hibachi Grill. We haven't been to one of those in a few years so it was a lot of fun!

Saturday we went to the Marchants Annual Valentine's Party. This is one I look forward to all year long. Probably the best one yet too.

We started off the night with a Cafe Rio dinner. So delicious!

The yummy desserts! Megan made the cheesecake & I made the sugar cookies.
Crescent always spends so much time planning the games to play & this year takes the cake. We played Minute To Win It & it was a huge hit! I don't think we've all laughed so hard in such a long time. I know I hadn't anyways.

{Junk in the Trunk} You have a tissue box with 6 ping pong balls inside tied to your bum & you have to shimee & shake them out. This was hysterical! Everyone had some serious dance moves to boot. And don't you love how Dave is holding onto the chair in the bottom pics? Too funny!

{Cookie on your Face} You start with a cookie on your forehead & you have to get it into your mouth only using your facial muscles. Kristie got the best time on this one!

{Attached at the Hip} You each have a yard stick with ribbon on each end & you have to wrap it from one stick to the other using only your hips. This was great because mostly the ladies stood still while the guys tried to wrap the ribbon. Good laughs indeed!
After this we played a few rounds of the NewlyWed Game. And then we played a fun dice game to exchange our prizes/gifts. Such a great night with our dear friends. I am so sad that this was our last Valentines Party with them. Most will be graduating in the spring & moving away. :(
For Valentine's Day I made chocolate waffles with a berry sauce & whip cream.
I didn't get a picture so I just took the one from the blog whose recipe I used. {ourbestbites.com}

They were delicious! I think I would rather have them as a dessert due to how rich they were next time around.
That evening we had a little romantic dinner just the 3 of us! I set the table with rose petals & candles & we had some bubbly too. :)

The menu was rosemary herb chicken, twice baked potatoes in a heart shape. That didn't really work out though & orange glazed asparagus. It was delicious! We had chocolate covered strawberries for dessert.

My two LOVES!
It was a great Valentines & I'm so glad I was able to celebrate with many that I love.
