The Shaw Family

Doug & I were married on October 6, 2005 in the Salt Lake Temple. We are currently living in the Dallas, Texas area. We have two sons, Gavin Douglas born September 18, 2009 & Liam Robert born October 14, 2011. We are so happy to be a family of four & love our boys so much! It is always one adventure after another in this house.

The Weekend

Friday while Gavin was in school Liam & I ran around like crazy getting our errands done. I noticed after one stop how pleasant he was being. He's kind of at a hard age right now so when he is being extra good I want him to know it. :) We were right by Red Mango so I decided it was time for treat. He was thrilled! As was I because let's be honest, who doesn't like frozen yogurt?

Saturday was a busy day & we tackled a lot on our 'to do' list. Gavin doesn't take naps anymore but sometimes he needs to. Although I can never persuade him into it. When will he realize that sleep is good? Anyhow, I was doing stuff thinking he was either outside or playing on the computer. When I walked into the family room this is where I found him. Wedged between the couch & ottoman. Moments like this always make me pause & just watch them for a while. It's when they're sleeping that you realize how big they are getting.
Sunday was General Conference which we look forward to. But if I'm completely honest, it's also really hard right now. Having small kids & trying to pay attention is a LOT of work. I always have the best intentions to do some Pinterest idea that will help the kids pay attention, but once again, I waited to the last minute & did nothing. Well not completely nothing. I did make our yummy cinnamon rolls.

Yum! I only make these twice a year on General Conference Sunday because we eat the ENTIRE pan. (gulp!)
And eating these tends to put us into a food coma too. :) BUt I'm not gonna argue with the snuggles that came from it. No way, not this mama.
