The time finally came for us to put the house on the market. We decided to take a chance at selling it ourselves in hopes to not pay any commissions to anyone. So up the sign went. It was a bitter sweet moment for me. Not really real that we are actually moving in a few months.
I about died of laughter when I glanced over & saw Liam watering our grass in the nude. :) And the angle was juuuust right too. tee hee!
My car was having some issues & it needed to be looked at by the dealership. So after dropping it off I had to take Doug to school so I could have his car at home. But before doing so we hit up Panera Bread for a little breakfast date. It was kinda fun having a date at a different time of day.
I got Gavin's school pictures & am completely in love with them. I think it's so nice that they photograph the kids outside. So much better then those awful backgrounds they usually have.
My handsome boy sure looks good in blue. Really though, could he be any cuter?!
Lady killer right there. :)
On instagram there are always giveaways & they usually involve a lot to 'enter'. One I came across though was to simply 'follow' them & 'tag' a friend. That's my kind of giveaway. So I entered knowing I didn't really have a chance as I NEVER win anything. But to my surprise...I WON!!! I was so super pumped that I was literally jumping up & down screaming, "NO WAY! NO WAY!". Doug & my sister thought I was so weird. I can't even say how cool of a feeling it actually was to win. So what did I win? A free entry to a Dirty Dash race & a pair of Albion Fit capris.
When they finally arrived I was just as pumped as when I found out I won. Haha! These babies are my absolute favorite. Love the pattern & colors. And they are so comfy & hold everything in. I would buy a lot more of their merchandise if it wasn't so $$$$.
Took the boys to the Game Room for a little arcade play. And speaking of winning, these two hit the jackpot on this game. I think they won 500 tickets!!
I just love it when my friends have babies. I got to go visit Brenna & little Josephine in the hospital. New babies are so tiny!
Liam the BIG BAD WOLF. :)
My car was still in the shop & Doug needed my car for a scout campout. So Michele was sweet to let us borrow Drew's car while he was out of town. The boys had fun driving around in a different car. So funny story about this car. It must have been parked over a huge anthill or something because while I was driving it away from the Steels like hundreds (I'm not exaggerating here) hundreds of ants came crawling out of the floor all over the console, seats etc. I was FREAKING OUT!!! I'm lucky I didn't crash the car I was so busy trying to squish & kill them as fast as I could. Eeeeew! Gives me the heebies just writing about it again. Thankfully some good ol ant killer spray did the trick.
The boys were pretty bummed that it ended up raining because the plan was to let them camp out with Dad & the scouts after a friends birthday party. These two have the coolest Dad ever because he set the tent up in Gavin's room so they could still have a camp out. :) They were so excited.
We love it when the Halloween stuff comes out into the stores.
That's one dirtay fella right there. Doug is a man of many talents & fixing cars is one of them. He spent ALL weekend working on that beaut right there. And as you can see, he wasn't too thrilled about it. Haha! But at least it's fixed & will hopefully last us til we leave.
When you actually have a good hair day, it must be documented with a selfie. :)
We love getting invited to birthday parties. This one was a Neverland party. So here you have a lost boy & a pirate. Gavin insisted on wearing those (12 months) shorts. Haha! I cannot believe we got them buttoned.
"Hi! My name is Liam & I 'mustache' you a question?"
With Liam being in preschool twice a week I can actually have some me time. :) I needed to finish the book club book & where better to do that then poolside? Life is pretty good.
My friend April was telling us about waxing your nostril hair & we couldn't wait to try it ourselves. So at one of our girls nights she brought over her stuff & waxed our nosies. You'd think it would hurt when you pulled it out, but surprisingly it didn't. You could for sure feel the pressure, but no pain.
Me & Michele are looking good. :) Haha!
Trying to do a wall stand. You're suppose to have your butt up against the wall. Sounds WAY easier then done. My shoulders & arms couldn't hold me up. Too bad I didn't get a pic of the next 10 seconds. I tried doing it & came crashing down on my head. Haha!
THis boy loves nutella on toast for breakfast. This picture was taken AFTER I told him to wash his face.
Living in Fort Lauderdale definitely has some perks. One being that a lot of people travel here to go on cruises. So when that happens we sometimes get lucky & get to have quick visits with loved ones. Doug was out of town so he missed out, but I got a sitter & was able to enjoy some lunch with these two fine people.
We ate at California Pizza Kitchen & quickly picked up where we left off as we always do. It was fun hearing all about their cruise. I just wish Clark & Jamilyn could have stayed a day or two. :( But I'll take what I can get.
We love having friends over to play. Liam & Hayden are such cute friends. They have a hot n' cold relationship & usually end up hitting each other at some point, but the hugs & sorry's always come quick. :)
And in the final note, we came to a decision on where we will be headed after graduation.
"The stars at night, are big and bright....deep in the heart of Texas".
We are beyond excited about this move & are looking forward to building our life in the Dallas, Texas area. Doug is partnering up with two other orthodontists. One being our good friend & fellow co-resident, Glenn Krieger and the other another guy named Glenn Kohen. (Really two Glenns?) Kohen has been practicing in Dallas for about six years now. They are excited to get things rolling & we feel this is going to be a great partnership between the three.
I just need to put down my feelings about this whole thing. Months and months ago while discussing where we wanted to go, Texas always came to my mind. But there was no reason to go there. We didn't really know anyone & there wasn't some amazing opportunity that we were given. Which is why I kind of kept quiet about the idea. We prayed & prayed about things & to be honest I never really got an answer. And I truly believe that is because God didn't care. Not that He didn't care about our well being or our happiness, but because He knows us and knows that we can be happy anywhere. Now when we were heavily weighing about Dallas, I can say that I felt this was the right place for us. I did feel that confirmation from my Heavenly Father that this was right for us. And I can't help but smile & feel all warm inside that those early feelings I had were for a reason. :) So here we come Dallas!
