We started the celebrating off with going to a local parade with some friends. The kids liked watching the cars, trucks & wannabe floats go by. But they loved collecting all the candy that was thrown out to them most! It was quite the scorcher that day so we were sweaty & ready to leave quick by the time it was over.

It makes me happy that my family cooperates & lets me dress them the way I want. Haha!
God bless my family & God bless the USA!
That afternoon I got the dessert ready that we were taking to a bbq that evening.
White Texas Sheet Cake with cream cheese frosting. YuM!
The Ashby's are now renting out the place that our friends James & Joslyn Sorensen lived in before they moved to Orlando. We sure lucked out being able to still come over to this amazing yard. They had all sorts of water play set up for the kids & us grown ups had a great time chatting away & eating yummy food.
As soon as Doug busted out the fireworks the kids were all over them...and him. :) They loved the smoke bombs best!
This made me laugh to see Liam all alone in the pool with ALL the guns. Haha! Don't mess.
Marty & Allisa brought a huge tarp that we laid out for the kids to use as a giant slip n slide. Gavin had to show them all how to do it on their tummies, but after a few rounds they all got it down pretty good. It was a blast & they seriously played for soooo long. Kids + water = great babysitting. Haha!
Look at all those boys!
Sparklers were a big hit too!
We didn't make it to any of the BIG firework shows, but driving home on the freeway we got to see all of them at once. It was pretty cool. And when we got home we let the boys shoot off some roman candles before calling it a night.
I sure love my little ones with all my heart. I'm so grateful to be an American & raise my children is such a wonderful country. Sure it has it's problems, but don't we all?
Happy Birthday America!!!

I love your guys outfits!!! Way more coordinated than me. Even when I just try to tell the boys to wear red and blue on holidays like this, I'm met with whining. It's become a regular lecture to tell the boys, "mom gets to decide what you wear on holidays and for family pictures!! So just deal with it! You get to pick on every other day!!" ;) That parade looks so fun!! I really wanted to go to one on the 4th.
