Laura & I got home late Saturday night. I was pooped & was quite looking forward to the fact that Sunday was Mother's Day & that I would hopefully be able to sleep in. Well my wish came true. I wasn't disturbed until these precious boys came walking in my room carrying my breakfast tray while singing, "Happy Mother's Day to you..." (to the birthday theme tune) I couldn't stop smiling. :)
This breakfast sure was tasty. Doug even made homemade whip cream too! These boys wanted to help me eat my breakfast & how could I refuse those cute faces?
I wanted a family snap shot of us all in our Sunday best after church. But man was the sun bright! Even with all of our squinty eyes I still love this picture. I love that it's in our yard & the scenery is 100% Florida. :)
I even got to take an afternoon nap! This day couldn't get any better in my opinion. There is just something about after church naps that are the bomb! When I woke up, I could smell dinner cooking. When I came out of my room I had a big spread on the table waiting for me.
The boys colored me pictures & got me my favorite chocolate treats. They also filled out a 'mom book' as per my request. Doug is really good about gifts, but I couldn't really expect him to print, cut, fill out & assemble a little 'mom book'. So I made it easy on him. I printed & cut it all out & simply told him to help the boys fill it out for me. :) Doug did however surprise me big time with yet another Pinterest type gift. He made & put together that soda bottle Pampering Kit. It was full of all sorts of goodies: nail polish, nail file, chapstick, lotion, shower gel, loofah, perfume & the biggie, a gift certificate for a massage. Let's just say he scored some major points. :)
My sister spoiled me too. She got me this beautiful 2-tier serving stand that I had been eyeing at Hobby Lobby. I was totally shocked & giddy over this gift. She sure loves me lots!
For dinner we had steak, baby red potatoes & asparagus. Yum! We had our friends the Trockels over for dessert which was a Caramel Cobbler. So rich & oh so good!
It was a perfect day & I felt very loved. I love my sweet little family & am so happy to be the mother of these two boys. Although, I couldn't do it without my wonderful husband being by my side helping me raise them.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

I'm starting to wish I had never read this post! 😂 Maybe Doug could call up Trav and give him some pointers. The poor guy does awesome every other day of the year... But Mothers Day. I mean look at the presentation points on that breakfast! Bravo, Doug, bravo.
