Here are the randoms from the month:
{April Fools Day}
I kind of forgot about this & it wasn't til the day before I decided what I was going to do to prank my kids at dinner. I am happy to say it was a success & they got fooled. I just love Liams face in the video. Haha! Priceless. I served them "chicken nuggets, ketchup & peas". AKA wafter cookies spread with peanut butter & rolled in corn flakes, strawberry jam & jelly beans.
The weather has been warming up so we've started hitting up the pool again. Liam just learned how to jump in & he's addicted. He just does it over & over & over again.
General Conference is always something I look forward to, but with small children it sure is a challenge to actually hear anything that is being said. Thank goodness for the internet & the Ensign. I know I'm one in a million that make cinnamon rolls on Conference Sunday, but I just couldn't resist snapping a pic. They were sooooo yummy! But it's a good think I only make them once a year.
On a healthier note, I've been trying to cook more clean lately & have been using some new recipes. The bright colors of fresh ingredients are just so pretty.
I love the website: Skinnytaste She has some really tasty, low calorie recipes that we love.
Got this idea from instagram. Crackers with mashed sweet potato & cottage cheese. Yum!
{Gavin's Spring Break}
Like mentioned before, Gavin's spring break was later then all his friends. But we managed to fill the week with some fun activities.
The Mall Activity was a hit because he never gets to go anymore now that he is in school. He loved getting his face painted like old times.
Sahara, Gavin & Liam
We went to the beach with friends. It was the best beach day ever. No waves so the kids could wander out & swim without keeping us moms on our toes out of fear.
Marty was a saint & pulled the kids around on the boogie board for quite a while. They were having a blast!
One afternoon we went to the movies & saw the new Rio 2. It wasn't as good as the first one, but the boys enjoyed it.
And what spring break is complete without a Pizza Pool Party with your friends? This is the only picture I got, but it's a good one. They were told to strike a pose. Interpretation: Ninja moves.
Doug got to have a little break from school as well. He went to New Orleans for another conference.
He was excited to tell the boys that he ate gumbo & beignets just like in the Princess & the Frog movie. And from that conversation on, every person my boys talked to was told that their dad is in New Orleans eating gumbo. Haha!
We sure miss our daddy when he is gone, but I'm glad he gets to go on these little trips & get away.
An afternoon at Target with the boys is sometimes a sticky situation. Haha! I had my back turned & then heard Gavin calling out, "Ow! Mom, help me, I'm stuck." Silly kid got his head stuck in I don't even know what. I couldn't help but laugh & of course had to snap a picture. He even gave me a smile for it too.

Our rose bushes really took off this year & were absolutely beautiful! I just love to stop & smell the roses. :)
We had book club at Michele's, but it was also a surprise last girls night for Joslyn & McKenzie because they both are moving away soon. We'd been trying to plan with them a night, but they just wouldn't commit to something with all the moving, graduation activities. So we just decided to double up on the evening they already committed to coming to. I'm real bugged that I didn't get a picture of the them or all of us for that matter. Michele had made cute mats of Florida with a heart in Fort Lauderdale area that were framed for them each to take. And we all went in & got them cute coasters for their new homes that when they're entertaining their new friends, they'll remember us old ones. Haha! But leave it to me to forget taking pictures of people, but remembering to snap one of the food table. Seriously, what'm my problem? It was all Jos & Kenzie's favorites.
Who knew we had a mango tree in our back yard? We sure didn't. Haha! Doug was beyond giddy about this as he yelled for me to, "Come check this out!" He said, "NOW we can stay in Florida babe." Oh please.
