The boys were fast asleep when Aunt Kimmi & Uncle Dave arrived & we had to wake them up. Not the typical start to Christmas morning, but I had fun waking up Gavin by saying, "Wake up...it's Christmas!" and seeing his eyes pop open & a smile spread across his face. The spirit of Christmas truly lives in our children. We were the mean parents that made our kids sit at the top of the stairs to wait for everyone to be ready. They were so antsy. It actually brought back lots of memories from my childhood.
Santa indeed found us at Grandmas house & even left the boys a letter. Basically reminding them the true meaning of Christmas and to be kind & loving all year long.
I LOVE this picture of Liam with Grandpa Shaw & Tiki!
All unwrapped & ready to play. We all got SPOILED!
The Shaw boys all got new super hero shirts so we just had to take a pic. And I'm pretty sure my MIL was crying behind the camera in joy of seeing all her boys married & one big happy family. :)
I made breakfast for everyone & decided to start yet another tradition of monkey bread. It turned out perfect & oh so tasty!
After breakfast everyone had to leave to go visit the other parents/families. We just played with the boys & their new toys amidst packing for our getaway trip to....HAWAII! We were leaving that afternoon so we were taking advantage of every minute with our kiddos. This would be the longest time we've ever left them. I was worried as Liam was having a rough time due to lack of sleep, having a cold & I think he could just sense that something was up. I knew they would have a great time with Grandma & Grandpa Shaw and their aunts & uncles though so that helped.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

MMmmmmm that monkey bread looks amazing! I love the picture of you and the boys on the stairs. And that's pretty thoughtful to have that Santa letter left with the plate of crumbs! Looks like a fantastic Christmas morning!
Monkey bread looks so delicious and I know it tasted that way, too, cause you are a great cook! Sitting on the stairs waiting to go down to see what Santa has brought is a family tradition from when I was a girl. With you and Doug following in our footsteps that makes 3 generations. Kind of a fun tradition and I especially love the photo that went with it. Great pics of the Christmas fun!
