The Shaw Family

Doug & I were married on October 6, 2005 in the Salt Lake Temple. We are currently living in the Dallas, Texas area. We have two sons, Gavin Douglas born September 18, 2009 & Liam Robert born October 14, 2011. We are so happy to be a family of four & love our boys so much! It is always one adventure after another in this house.

Gingerbread houses, Craft Group & Santa

For Family Home Evening we decorated our gingerbread house. I found a kit that had the house already assembled & was ready to just decorate. I was sold. I love to decorate gingerbread houses, but often get so frustrated when trying to build the walls & roof. The frosting always takes forever to dry & hold & with littles it's too hard. For me anyways. So this was the perfect kit for us.

The boys loved sneaking in bites of the candy as we went along.

It's always messy, but so fun doing this activity as a family.

{Craft Group}
I hosted craft group this month because I knew it would be easy with all the cute Christmas ideas out there. I picked this book to go off of & use as inspiration for our activities.

After reading the story to the kids we gathered around the table to make Christmas ornaments & decorate sugar cookies.

It was a mad house, but the kiddos loved every minute of it! So fun having this group for our younger kids that are not in preschool.

{Visiting Santa}
We went with our friends the Steel's to see Santa Claus at the Bass Pro Shop. Gavin was excited to sit on his lap & tell him what he wanted for Christmas. Liam on the other hand was terrified. The closer we got to Santa the tighter his grip was on Doug. We had to keep telling him how nice Santa was & that he would get a candy cane if he sat on his lap. *Repeated 20 million times* Well it worked. :)

He 100% looks so nervous & skeptical, but he was being such a tough big boy for mom & dad. I can't help but smile at the fact that my boys are in shorts & flip flops on Santa's lap. :)

Awwwww, hahaha! Liam's face!! He's trying SO hard to put on a brave face!! That's so adorable. Your gingerbread house looks legit! Nice! And how fun to have a special little group for Liam while Gavin is in school!
