I saw on a friends instagram that she had a grinch dinner with her kids. I thought it sounded like such a fun & good idea that I had to do one for our family too. We were getting ready to go to Utah for the holiday break so we decided to have our little Grinch Christmas the night before we left so the kids could open their gifts from us. **Side note: NEVER again will I do this the day before leaving for a huge trip.**
We all sat down for our Grinch Feast complete with: roast beast, who-hash, who-pudding & grinch juice. While the family ate their dinner I read aloud the Dr. Seuss The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.
The meal was a success & this is for sure becoming a family tradition. :)
After dinner it was time for presents. The boys were beyond excited & were itching to get their hands on those wrapped gifts.
Doug got just what he wanted from Becki. A new soccer ball & ball pump.
The boys & their loot.
And for dessert, Santa Claus cupcakes. I wish I could say I decorated these, but I didn't. Good ol grocery store bakery. :) It was such a fun night with my little family & I am so glad we did it this way instead of trying to pack their gifts to take to Utah. This is for sure a tradition that will stay in our family.

Isn't it fun starting traditions with our own little families now?! I had always heard people say that but never really got it until this year. Your Grinch dinner looked awesome! I totally agree though... sooo much work! Definitely not the thing to do on the night you have to pack and clean. :/ Looks like the boys loved their toys!!
