The Boys' Weekend with Auntie

Like mentioned in the previous post, this was the first time we have ever left both boys with anyone for more than a day. I was more worried for Laura's sanity then the safety of my children while we were away. Haha! I knew the boys would love it. She admitted to being a little nervous having them all day & all night long. But I assured her it would be fine. She knows their routines & is a part of their daily life. I did print up the daily schedule though for her to reference if needed. It also listed ideas for things to keep them busy.

The hardest part of leaving was Liam. When we got to the airport he was so excited & thought he was coming with us on the airplane. That was hard seeing him get so upset when he realized we were actually leaving him behind. Gavin was fine. He just kept referencing our leave as a 'date'. Haha! Yes, son, we are going on a really long 'date'. :)  I told Laura to take pictures of their weekend together as this will be a memory building experience for them all. Plus, I wanted to see my babies playing with their awesome aunt.

So here's what fun they had while we were away.

The afternoon we left after naps she took them to the movies. They had so much fun eating popcorn & watching the show! Love that she used the monkey leash too. Smart lady.

Friday was really the only day that had to be on a schedule because Gavin had school. And from the sound of it it all went smoothly. While G man was at school Laura took Liam to the little Music Class that we've been going to every month. I'm sure she liked having other women to chat with as much as Liam liked running around like crazy!

Not sure when this was taken, but I couldn't stop laughing when I saw it. She always buys the silliest little things for them to play with. Loving their bright yellow staches!

Saturday morning she took the boys on a Dunkin Donuts in their jammies run. Thank goodness for drive thrus right?

After donuts they went to the Home Depot craft day & made an airplane.

I loved seeing these pictures of their weekend together & I was so glad everything went well for her & the boys. She was pooped when we returned that's for sure. These two boys take a lot of energy to keep up with. She definitely got a first hand look into motherhood & all it has to offer. But I think it's safe to say that she loved every minute of it. :) I don't know what we would do without her willingness & never ending love & care for these boys. It's so fun having her here living by us & getting to experience daily life together as a family. We love you Aunt Laura!

What a comfort to be able to leave on a trip and know your boys are safe and sound with their aunty! It looks like they had a blast with her! Maybe you need to plan more couple trips, eh?! :)
