Saturday morning I ran a 5K Charity Race. This race makes number 3 for me...ever! And it was the first one that wasn't a 'fun/obstacle' type race. I didn't do any training or really, any running before hand as Doug & I have been solely doing our T25 workouts. I'm not going to lie, I was a bit nervous about running the 3.1 miles. I have a bad knee that flares up when it's not consistently being used in the form of running. There were four of us running together & none of them were really prepared for the race either so we decided to just make it fun & at least cross the finish line. Haha.
The race took place at Hollywood Beach Boardwalk around sunrise.
Absolutely beautiful!

This girl pushed me. And I love her for it! I ended up running better than I expected & my knee only flared up at the last half mile. We both crossed the finish line around 28:55. Not super fast, but I was thrilled to be under 30 minutes after not running for over 2 months.

Laura & Katelin crossed the finish line just 10 minutes after we did.

I have to give a big shout out to my sister. I was soooo proud of her!
She doesn't really dig running, but she signed up for the race &
started training. She was way nervous about it, but she finished with a
great time & seemed pretty happy....that it was over. ;) But
seriously, I am really very proud of her hard work.

How fun & crazy are these two?!

Gotta love living in Florida!
The lady taking these pictures was hilarious. She took a billion & kept moving the phone around in all different angles. I commented on it & she replied, "I do the whole Facebook thing, so I know." Bwah haha! Little did she know she was capturing her finger in all of them. :)
It was such a beautiful day & a great way to kick off the weekend. I had so much fun running with these ladies!

Good for you guys! And especially Laura! That location looks heavenly. I've yet to do a race. :( I'm hoping for one at Thanksgiving, but like you, I won't really have trained... just T25. Hope it's enough!
