Fancy that, I'm actually posting about the previous weekend on here. Haha! Who would've thought I'd ever get caught up & stay on track. I sure never thought I would.
{Boating the Intercoastal}
This past weekend was one of the funnest weekends ever. It started off by being invited by our friends Brittany & Tyler Rhodes to go boating with them Friday night.They have invited us in the past, but it just never worked out for us to go. I'm soooo happy that Doug was able to get off a little early so we could go this time.
My boys were PUMPED to be going on the boat. It was Liam's first time ever & he was in heaven. He just kept yelling, "BOAT, BOAT!". So funny.
Captain Tyler & his cute girls Brittany & Collette.
Gavin & Owen
Britt & Tyler insisted that Doug & I take the first turns in the water. We were both a little nervous as we haven't skiied or wake boarded for over 6 years!!! Ya, that's a long time folks. I was praying it would be like riding a bike & come back quickly. I hate not getting up cuz I feel like I'm wasting everyone's time. I know, I'm lame, but it's truly how I feel. I must say that jumping in the water was quite a different experience than I'm use to. I'm use to having it take my breathe away, not being like bath water. Not complaining one bit about it though. It was awesome!
And what's even more awesome? I got up my first try!!!
And so did Doug. :) He was jumping the wake & doing tricks like he had just wake boarded last week. Love it. I had such a blast slaloming & was surprised how easily it all came back. I loved the fact that we were going along the intercoastal & our view was people's back yards. Haha!
Britt getting ready to slalom. Don't mind that this girl is like 5 months prego. She is awesome!
Tyler's turn to show us a thing or two on the wake board. It is so fun having this common love of water sports with this fun family. I hope it's not the last time we get to do this together. Hint hint!
Checking out what's in the water.
Love this shot I got of Liam from up above. Such a cutie!
Miss Collette & baby
Time for the tube! Owen & Gavin went out all by themselves. I was a little nervous because Gavin has never been pulled behind a boat. It helped having his buddy with him, but check out that face. I think he was saying, "cheese", but it also looks like a really nervous face.
He LOVED it! They were so cute out there. :)
Even Liam got a turn out on the tube. He liked it even more than Gavin did. :)
My two water babies.
Wrapped up & getting warm with mom. This brings back memories of my childhood sitting on my mother's lap in the boat. I loved every minute of this outing & it brought a lot of Lake Powell memories back to mind. I sure miss boating & can't wait til we own our own boat some day. :)
Thank you Rhodes for inviting us on your boat & showing us a great time! Shall we say next week, same time, same place? Haha!
{Lauderdale Beach}
Saturday we met up with some friends down town at Lauderdale Beach. It was fun going to a new beach. Saturday was a great day for it too as everyone else was there. It was crowded. Not sure if it was because it was Saturday or because there are more tourists in down town Fort Lauderdale. We had fun regardless playing in the sand & catching some waves.
Liam was our little 'Wreck it Ralph' that day. He was destroying our castles faster then we could build them. Little stinker.
We were getting a good laugh at Brittany sporting Tylers hat. It was HUGE on her head!! Haha!
Being buried in the sand is the best!
Fun in the sun with friends! Don't you just love Tyler's photo bomb with his belly?! haha!
The hardest part about going to the beach is all the work for such a short amount of time. Getting things packed up & washed off is such a pain. Especially when we wait til the very last minute & then have ornery crying children on top of it all. Thankfully there was a 7-eleven right across the street that saved us all. Kids were happy and mom & dad were happy.
That night we took the boys to the movies to see the new cartoon 'Planes'.
Gavin loved it & was glued to the screen the entire time. Liam did
pretty well as long as he had his popcorn or sucker. I thought the movie
was pretty darn cute & had a great message about going out of your
comfort zone to try new things. And to be kind to everyone whether their
nice or not.
I sure love my sweet family & am so grateful for the weekends when we get to be together & have lots of fun!
