Doug & I were married on October 6, 2005 in the Salt Lake Temple. We are currently living in the Dallas, Texas area. We have two sons, Gavin Douglas born September 18, 2009 & Liam Robert born October 14, 2011. We are so happy to be a family of four & love our boys so much! It is always one adventure after another in this house.

Utah Happenings Continued

The day after Christmas was spent with my parents. We started out the day by meeting at IHOP for some breakfast. Yum! And then we headed over to the Sandy Lanes for some bowling.

My moms twin sister Aunt Colleen joined us so she could spend some time with her other half. :) It was fun having both my moms!

Gavin must have been proud of his bowl with that hand fisted pump going on. haha!

My dad getting his bowl on!

We ran a few errands afterwards & my dad needed to get some stuff from REI so we headed over there & decided to do some rock climbing.

Gavin all suited up & ready to climb. He was way excited about it & did an awesome job! He was a little hesitant after the first few , but with some vocal encouragement & bribery he continued on up that wall like a champ.

We had a blast & I can totally see how people become addicted to this. You get such a rush of fear & adrenaline all at the same time.

We loved spending as much of the little time we had with my mom & dad & were sad to say goodbye. Not quite sure when the next time we see them will be.

As our final weekend approached we had a few fun things planned. First, we decided to hit up good ol Jungle Jims Playland. This place was around when we were both kids & it looks exactly the same. It smelled the same too. Yuck! But Gavin had a blast riding the rides & playing the games.

He even had a little date going on too. Our friends the Bell's met us there with their little girl Jayda. Those two sure had fun together!

I love that Jayda has her arm around his shoulder. SOOO cute!

The bumper cars were kind of a joke. They barely moved an inch & always ended in a clump stuck together. But they didn't mind one bit. They were all smiles!

I'm glad we got to do something fun with Gavin. After we just couldn't resist hitting up Cafe Rio one last time for lunch. Mmmm!

Doug & I got our date night to the Jazz game. We drove most of the way down town, but decided to park far away & then ride Trax the rest of the way in to avoid traffic. It was fun!

I thought it was funny that the last basketball game we went to in Atlanta with my siblings was the Hawks vs Clippers & now we were watching the Clippers vs the Jazz. You'd think we were Clippers fans, but we root for their opposing teams in both games. Haha!

The game was pretty good & they kept it interesting. There is something about watching professional games that is super fun! At one point in the game we both noticed this extremely tall man walking the aisle. And as he approached, Doug realized who it was...

Mr. Thurl Bailey himself. I have never seen Doug get so giddy so quickly. He said hi to him & shook his hand as I was pulling out my phone. That's when Big T asked if Doug would like a picture. Boy did he! Just look at that grin. I never thought Doug to be a man of short stature, until this photo. Haha! It was such a fun night & I'm glad we got to go just the two of us. Thanks Dave!

The day before we left I went to lunch with the Shaw girls at Mimi's Cafe. It's so nice having the three of us ladies that can have a little alone time together. You'd think after being married 7 years that you would know your mother in law well, but since we moved out of state only a few years after being married & only getting to see her 2x a year, that just isn't the case. And having a new sister-in-law of only 1 year, it calls for some bonding time. It's fun getting to know them & learn more about the wonderful women they are. I'm lucky to have them in my life.

We spent the rest of the day getting our bags packed & ready to go back to Florida. It was so great to be able to come home for the holidays & spend time with our loved ones. When ever I am in Utah, I always want to move back. Such a great place full of so many memories & wonderful things. Maybe one day.... but thank goodness for being able to visit!
