The Shaw Family

Doug & I were married on October 6, 2005 in the Salt Lake Temple. We are currently living in the Dallas, Texas area. We have two sons, Gavin Douglas born September 18, 2009 & Liam Robert born October 14, 2011. We are so happy to be a family of four & love our boys so much! It is always one adventure after another in this house.

Christmas Day

I think we woke up about 6:30 & Gavin was beyond excited about seeing if Santa came & brought him presents. We made him sit at the top of the stairs until everyone was ready to go in. We are so mean, but I remember my parents doing the exact same thing, so it's only right to continue that right?

LOVE Gavin's expression!

He was so happy that Santa liked the cookies that he made with Aunt Whitney.

Our family's loot from Santa Clause. As you can see, Santa was not able to make a 'pig robot', but he did give Gavin a robot with a pig attached to it. Bwah haha! Gavin was not sold. He was a little disappointed which made me sad because we really tried to deliver, but failed miserably. He does like his robot & just said, "Next year Ill get a pig robot!". I sure hope he forgets about this one & moves on. :)
We all got spoiled this year!

The boys got some dress ups of Batman from Aunt Whitney & Uncle Danny. I just think this mask is the cutest. Or really, that my Liam is the cutest with this mask on. Haha! He even has the Bruce Wayne smolder look going on too.

Gavin Batman showing us his strong muscles!

We bought Uncle Danny some bear paw slippers that he has really been wanting. So funny!

Dave gave me & Doug tickets to an upcoming Jazz game. We were beyond excited for our date night!

 My two little firemen.

I don't remember what this toy is called, but when I saw it at the store it brought back memories of when I was a kid so I had to get it for Gavin. He liked looking at all the pictures.

Liam was excited about all the stuff going on. He just kept running around from one thing to another.

I sure love this girl & am so happy to have a sister in the Shaw family. She sure loves our boys & helped make this Christmas a wonderful one!

 Daddy & Liam

Doug got me the perfume that I have been wanting & longing for for soooo long! I was super excited about it.

And Uncle Dave was not use to waking up that early so he crashed on the floor amongst all the hustle & bustle. We had a great morning with the Shaws & were overwhelmed by all the love we felt from everyone.

After Liam's morning nap we got ready & loaded in the car to head to Saratoga Springs to my aunts home. I was beyond giddy & excited to arrive because I was going to be seeing my parents!
They are serving a mission in Hawaii & were not planning on coming to Utah over the holidays. But with them purchasing a home & having to close etc they decided they could spend a couple days in SLC to see family. We were beyond thrilled to see them even if it was only short amount of time.

It was quite the warm welcome we received as it was my mom & dad that opened the door & embraced us in hugs & kisses. It was fun being with our cousins & sharing in on their Christmas. We had a wonderful feast for lunch & had such a good time just chatting away & catching up.

All the ladies. I never did get a picture of us just with my parents. :( Boo!

We had a few skype conversations with my two brothers & their families. It was hard not being all together this year. In fact this was a rather emotional trip to Utah for me. My parents sold their home on Dawn Hill so coming to Utah & not being able to go that home was really difficult. We went to visit some friends from their neighborhood so of course we drove by. It was so odd knowing it wasn't ours anymore, but feeling like it was. It was the home I grew up in. I kind of felt homeless really. It was a very odd feeling that is hard to explain. And then to not have any of my family around just added to it ya know? I am however so grateful for the extended family & Doug's family that helped make the holidays special.
