When I grew up the only thing we really did to celebrate St. Patrick's Day was wear green to avoid pinching from my father. Now that I'm a mom & Gavin is getting to the age where he actually enjoys having fun things around the holidays I decided to add a 'wee' bit to the green holiday. Mostly in food as that is what holidays are all about right? Anyhow, before the day arrived I did talk to Gavin about shamrocks, rainbows & leprechauns, but it didn't really seem to be sticking. Little do I know how much their brains actually hold. Because the morning of St. Patrick's, Gavin woke up & the first thing he said was, "Leprechauns...come?" :) And indeed they had. There were green shamrocks all over the house that Gavin had to find & collect. The trail let him straight to his chair at the table where he found some gold coins & a rainbow breakfast.
Those green eggs though sure do play with your head. It was a little difficult to eat them.
The rainbow pancakes turned out perfect!
Aunt Laura sent them their green shirts. Such cute brothers!
I love how cheesy Gavin's smile is getting these days. He sure is growing up fast.
And sweet little Liam. I love watching him play with those cute toes!
That evening we had the Evans' over for a St. Patty's Day dinner. It was a lot of fun sharing the holiday with our Buffalo family.
I'm not a real fan of corned beef & cabbage so I made a roast instead. Steph brought the green mashed potatoes. Everything was so YUMMY!
My little leprechaun!
Everyone seemed to get a kick out of the little green hats I had for them. The boys loved the chocolate coins best! Hope everyone had a fun St. Patrick's Day!
