The weather lately has been absolutely wonderful! A real Indian Summer. So Saturday, being my last Saturday before having this baby we really wanted to do something fun as a family. We headed out to Clarence to go to the Great Pumpkin Patch. When we first arrived it wasn't too crowded, but by the time we left we realized that everyone & their dog had the same idea. :)

Gavin really liked this camel. He even touched him a few times. The best though was when we were leaving he wanted to see him one more time. So Doug put him up close & the camel totally growled at Gavin! It startled Gavin like crazy & he was a little scared. I think he has mentioned to me every day since that the "Camel, growled, Gavin!"

He sure does love animals!

Every time he would feed the goats he would just start to giggle. It must have tickled his hand.

He got his face painted for the first time & held very still for the lady to paint that little ghost. Of course right after she showed it to him in the mirror his hand went right up to his cheek to touch it. Oh well! It was free. :)

The Hayride

Gavin & Collin perched up on a HUGE pumpkin! For some reason those big pumpkins kind of gross me out. It's not normal!

Our little family shot
(and yes a few comments were made that I have my own pumpkin or that I stole a pumpkin. ha ha!) It was a fun afternoon spent with friends & I'm glad we went.
Later that night I co-hosted a baby shower for one of my new friends Liz McPhee. She & her husband just moved here this summer to start dental school. She is expecting a little girl just 4 weeks after me. I feel like so many people have been having boys lately that it was a lot of fun doing a girlie shower. Here are a few pics:

We went with a Dessert Bar for the refreshments. We had snicker cupcakes, mini cheesecakes, oreo truffles, brownie tartlets, fruit & a ruffle cake.

I have been wanting to attempt this ruffle cake for the longest time, but have never really had a reason to do so. So I was super excited to give it a whirl for the shower. I think it turned out pretty cute. It wasn't as hard as I thought, but I know with practice it could look much better.

It did however taste really yummy!

It wouldn't be a complete shower without a few games right?! This is one of my favorites (to watch that is) The first to finish their bottle wins a prize! I like to use the slow flow nipples to make it more challenging. Mallory beat Kwynne & Liz by a long shot! I wonder what her secret was? ;)

And here is Liz the mother to be trying her hardest to win! Sadly I didn't get a shot of the entire group, but it was quite the turn out. She got a lot of cute things to help her get ready to be a new mommy! I'm so excited to meet this little girl that could be a future girlfriend for our little guy. :)

I think the camel was growling, "Come back and see me soon Gavin!"
