Work & Play

This past weekend was a busy & fun one. Gavin is such a daddy's boy & LOVES to help out whenever possible. Doug is great at letting him tag along & work along side by side.

I just love these pictures of Gavin helping dad mow the lawn. Notice that he is wearing gloves. They are a must when mowing the lawn in Gavin's little mind. :)

This boy makes me SMILE! :)

Saturday after hitting up some garage sales we headed over to the airport for some fun festivities. They had a bunch of bounce houses to play in & they even had one of the helicopters open for the kids to sit in & play pretend. Gavin loves airplanes & helicopters so he was in heaven.

So serious as he focuses on flying the helicopter. That or maybe it was just too bright to get him to smile.

We ate our lunch on the grass & watched a bunch of planes take off & land. It really is so neat to watch. I should have taken pictures. It was a great Saturday family activity for sure!

Sunday after church I decided to finally attempt making strawberry freezer jam. After my friend Steph made it a while back she informed me it was super easy & pretty hard to screw up. I'm really glad I made it because it was yes, super easy & oh so YUMMY! We couldn't even wait to let it set before trying it out on some bread. Next sampling will need to be on top of some vanilla ice cream. :)

Love strawberry freezer jam. So delicious! I made a couple of batches last year and actually messed one up. I was preoccupied and forgot to add the pectin to the boiling water. Dumb, I know. I tried to fix it and it came out lumpy but still tasted pretty good.

Cute pictures, Gavin is getting so big! Marc is a jam snob so I had to learn how to make strawberry freezer jam when we got married. He will only eat that jam but I can't blame him because it is soo good! :)
