The Shaw Family

Doug & I were married on October 6, 2005 in the Salt Lake Temple. We are currently living in the Dallas, Texas area. We have two sons, Gavin Douglas born September 18, 2009 & Liam Robert born October 14, 2011. We are so happy to be a family of four & love our boys so much! It is always one adventure after another in this house.

the start of many goodbyes

This is a hard time for us as we are having to say goodbye to many of our dear friends that have graduated & are now moving away. Last Thursday we had a goodbye bbq for our friends the Shaheens, Marchants & Cardons. They are all moving to parts of New Mexico to start their next chapter in life.

We just had to get a group shot before everyone left. I just love this picture because it shows how big our families have grown over the last 3 years. It really does look like a family picture doesn't it? We wish you all the best of luck as you go on your journey into the 'Real World'. You will all be deeply missed, but I'm glad to say that I know our friendships will continue on over the many years ahead.

Megan & Bron were leaving on Saturday. Luckily we were able to convince them to take a break from packing & go out to dinner one last time as us '6'. We went to The Shores at the Waterfront in N. Tonawanda. We had never been there before & it was pretty good. I want to go back when it's better weather because the view is great. It seemed rather surreal to me throughout the dinner that this really was the last time we would all be in Buffalo together. Steph asked everyone to share their best memories over the last 3 years. Crystal Beach, game nights, dinners, girl luncheons, guy bon fires & Letchworth Balloon Festival were the few of many that got mentioned. Friends really are what make this whole experience away from family bearable. We spend the holidays together, we are there for each other when babies are born, we laugh & cry together in the good & bad times.

The gang (minus Weston)
We are so thankful for Bron & Megan. They were the kind souls that let us crash at their home without even knowing us to find somewhere to live three years ago. It was from that moment on that we began to be great friends. We already miss you Meg, Bron, Lilly & Rubi!!!

What a great opportunity you all have had to make such wonderful friendships - being there for each other through thick and thin. The times you have had will never be forgotten.

Your preggo picture is so cute! Seriously, you put us all to shame. :) That last dinner with the Shaheens was HARD. Harder than I even expected. I hope she picks it up on the blogging! I want to know everything that's going on!
