Last Saturday was our big Primary Activity. It was also our wards temple day so we decided to have the activity in Palmyra while the parents attended the temple.
The focus of the activity was the Restoration of the Gospel. We had visitors in different rooms that spoke to the kids about who they were & what they experienced in the time of Joseph Smith. We couldn't have done this without the help of so many people. Here are our visitors:
The focus of the activity was the Restoration of the Gospel. We had visitors in different rooms that spoke to the kids about who they were & what they experienced in the time of Joseph Smith. We couldn't have done this without the help of so many people. Here are our visitors:
John the Baptist, Joseph Smith (age 14), Joseph Smith, the 3 witnesses, a mobster & Hyrum Smith
The kids loved it! They were so attentive & asked all sorts of questions to each visitor. The mobster was out in the hallway with his face covered up & holding an ax. Some thought it was funny, others were scared. He asked them where the gold plates were & one kid said, "Go ask Joseph, he is right over there." As he pointed to the other room. Too funny!
Afterwards we lined up all the kids & walked down & across the street to the temple. It was quite the walk for those little feet, but they did great!
We were the only ones from our presidency that were in town for this activity. I must admit we did a pretty good job pulling it off too. :) It was a lot of work getting everything ready & making the 1 1/2 hour drive but everything came together perfectly & I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out.

What a fun activity and what a great turn out!
It really did turn out great, even with just the two of us here!
Looks like a great activity! I'm in our ward primary presidency too. It has been a great experience for me so far. I'm excited that you guys are having another boy!
Way to go ladies! I'm sure that's an activity no one will forget soon. What a great turnout!
What a great activity. I know it's a lot of work - but so worth it!
It was fun hearing you describe it and wonderful to see the pictures. The pictures of the kids did remind me of when you were about eight and the Primary here took you all to the Jordan River Temple and took a group picture and individual pictures as well. I remember that it hung on your wall for years. A special reminder of a special day and of how blessed we are to have the Gospel and the temple.
You 2 are amazing, thanks so much. I don't think there are words to tell you how much that activity meant to me and my little family. My kids loved it. The pictures they got today were the perfect gift, especially since we are moving.
Way to go! I didn't know about your new calling- congrats! What a neat activity and a special memory for all of the kids.
