Well we made it through our first week as parents! It is crazy how quickly the time has gone by & that he is already a week old! Little Gavin is such a joy to have around & I am so grateful to be his mommy. It truly is amazing how much love you can have towards someone whom you barely know. We are both learning from each other & working together to make the transition. Having my mom here has been a huge blessing too! Here are some of the highlights from this week:
- At his 4 day old follow up appt, he gained 2 oz. since leaving the hospital.
- Gavin is eating wonderfully, but we're still learning this whole nursing thing.
- He rarely cries. Mostly when he gets a diaper change or needs to burp a bubble out.
- Doug finally got his turn of being peed on. But he got it worse...in the face! ;)
- He loves to be on his tummy! His neck strength is improving day by day.
- He hasn't needed to use a pacifier...yet.
- He likes to be wide awake at his late night feedings. Mommy doesn't like this so much. However, I am learning that it is possible to function on little sleep.
- He got his first sponge bath at home.
- His umbilical cord fell off.
It has been a pretty good first week & we still have a lot to learn, but Doug & I love being parents & are so grateful for our little man. My love for my son grows more and more with each day.
And of coarse I have to add in a few random pictures of our little one too! Enjoy!

Like father, like son. Gavin always sleeps with his mouth open & it was here when we realized where he gets that from. :)
