Doug & I were able to celebrate the 4th of July in our 'home' land of Utah! We flew in Friday night & were able to be here to help get all the festivities ready for the holiday. Saturday started out real early for me. I woke up at 6:30! The time difference is always a little hard to adjust to. Anyhow, me & my mom went on a walk around the neighborhood. Everything is so green out here from all the rain they've gotten. It was simply splendid! The neighborhood always has a lot of activities on the 4th. We were walking amongst those participating in a mini-triathalon & we saw the young men from the ward going around putting up flags in everyone's yards. Doug went on a run & everyone started cheering for him as he would go by. He got to one road out of the neighborhood & shortly realized that he had some followers from the race. :) It didn't take long for the runners to realize he wasn't a participant. So funny! We had breakfast outside on the patio & enjoyed our yummy waffles with blueberries & raspberries!
My parents were hosting a big family BBQ so we had to run some errands to get the last minute things. While we were out we decided it was only necessary to stop & get a JAMBA JUICE. DELICIOUS! By this time we were all tired & had to go home to get a little shut eye. We spent the afternoon setting up the party & preparing food. It was a great turn out & was so good to see family! The child/adult ratio is growing, growing, growing! There were so many little kids running around. It was a lot of fun!
(Here are the kidlets hitting the pinata & collecting their winnings)
After everyone left we had our little firework show presented by Doug. They may be small, but they sure are fun to watch! However, the sparklers we had were...LAME! We then ventured in the house & watched the Patriot. A great way to end this day of celebrating our nations freedom!

You and your sister looked kinda similar pulling that face! You have the same color eyes. That's funny about Doug and the runners. Glad you a good fourth! We miss you!
That's fun that you got to come home for the 4th. I can't believe all the projects you guys do, you're so crafty. The tile looks great.
Only ONE day until we get to hug you and your cute belly!
I am so sad we just missed each other. Seriously what are the odds? I hope you are having a great time though and playing like crazy! Much love!!!!
We miss you guys! Cred and I just walked by your house yesterday and were wondering if you were home! We are leaving Monday. I'm glad you're having fun!
Your blog has wonderful music, too, Lee Greenwood with his Proud to be an American. I love that song! It was wonderful to see you, but I can't believe that in the 2 weeks you were here, you GREW! I'm so glad you are looking forward to that special son.
It was so fun celebrating the 4th with everyone. I love the pic of you and Laura with your lame sparklers - it cracks me up!
