Doug & I were married on October 6, 2005 in the Salt Lake Temple. We are currently living in the Dallas, Texas area. We have two sons, Gavin Douglas born September 18, 2009 & Liam Robert born October 14, 2011. We are so happy to be a family of four & love our boys so much! It is always one adventure after another in this house.

July Happenings

July really has flown by. I actually feel like this summer is passing so quickly. We've had a busy, fun month full of lots of randoms. So here they are.

Laura & I went to a baby shower for one of our friends & in the car I insisted on snapping a sister selfie. Laura let me put in hair extensions for her & we curled them up all pretty that morning. So it was only necessary for a photo to be taken. :) I sure love my pretty sissy!

One morning we got to have little miss Cordelia come over to play. Her mom wanted to get some errands done & their house cleaned before going out of town. We were thrilled to have her! She is so polite & I just love having a girl around. She & they boys get along very well & played great together.
While playing dress up they decided that they needed some crowns. So we busted out the paper & markers & they each made their very own crown.

These two are very much into the PBS show the Wild Kratts & wanted to watch an episode. Cordy ran & got the safari hat for the occasion. :)

I always enjoy doing hair, but one of my favorite clients is this boy, James. He has got the best hair ever! And his mom is always up for something fun. We've spent the majority of the last year growing it out & it was adorable. But after requesting to wear headbands to keep it out of his face his mom knew it was time to cut it off. She requested that I give him the 'Jef with one f' style. Haha! I think it turned out pretty darn handsome.

Our ward celebrated Pioneer Day early & had a little party. The boys were happy to wear their boots. Dad wasn't with us so I wanted to snap a picture to send him. This is what I got when I asked them to pose.
I was dying as Gavin put his leg up on the chair, but then it continued to get a little weird when Liam persisted to show his affection to Gavin with face grabbing & kissing. Haha! I text Doug & said, "It's a little broke back mountain, but they sure are cute cowboys." Haha!

The kids loved the 3-legged races & the tug o war!
There really wasn't that great of a turn out. Which always makes me sad. It is summer & lots of traveling goes on, but this ward just doesn't seem to show support in these kinds of events. Oh well.

Summer showers are in full effect here in South Florida. We came out of the movies to find the parking lot completely flooded. Check it out! All the way up past my ankles. It's crazy how it just down pours here almost daily.

Liam has been doing fantastic with going on the potty. I owe a lot of that to us having a 'poo poo' chart for him to earn rewards. After a long while he finally earned going to a bounce house. So we went to Little Javas one morning with some friends. The kids love it there!

On a Saturday morning I ran to the store real quick while the boys were watching a show & Doug was outside. I got a phone call from Gavin saying that Liam had fallen asleep on the chair. Dang it! I was afraid that all hope of an afternoon nap were now lost. Well he stayed asleep like this for a really long time with us rambling about the house. Poor kiddo was tired.
Speaking of Liam, we were at the pool with some friends that evening & he was jumping off the side over & over. I was right there in the water next to him & had been watching him. He was having a great time. Well of course the jumping turned into jumping backwards & one time he over corrected his jump & smashed his mouth on the edge of the pool. At first I thought he got his nose. Oh how I wish it was his nose. I pulled his lip up when I saw that his nose wasn't bleeding & that's when I freaked out. His tooth was pushed up into gums!!! Yes I think a part of it broke off, but still. It was definitely up in the gums. He was screaming & crying. It was awful. It really did bring comfort that Doug is a dentist, but there really wasn't anything he could do at that point. We were just going to have to watch it. My poor baby.

Doug did take Liam into the clinic to take some xrays & thankfully it looks like the permanent tooth has not been affected by it. We'll just have to keep our eye on it & watch for infection. If there is infection, the baby tooth will have to come out. Such a tough guy, but man it breaks a moms heart to see her kids suffer in pain.

We got together with some of our Preschool friends at the Young At Art Museum one morning. This summer has been so busy & we really haven't done as much with these guys as we intended. So we were thrilled to be actually getting the kids together.

Okay, funny story about the water table. Liam was loving it. And after a while he decided not to wear the protective smock anymore. I knew he would get wet, but the kid won't listen to me. Anyhow, sure enough he was wet. I was chatting with the moms on the opposite side of the area, but noticed he was wandering over to the driers. Sure enough after another glance over & seeing some by standing moms giggle I see that he took his shirt offf. 'Go figure' is what ran through my mind. I knew he wasn't going to like it when he got wet. So I start walking over to him to put his shirt back on when I am surprised with a completely butt naked child!!! Yes, he took every article of clothing off & was standing there in the buff in the museum. No wonder the moms were laughing. I should have taken a picture, but I was so surprised by it that I just immediately started getting him dressed again. Man oh man, this kid keeps me on my toes. :)

Then this one comes up to me & shows me his arms & says, "Like my stamps? Oops I mean... I thought they were stamps for your arms, not for paper." As I was giving him that look. Haha! Silly kids.
When getting ready to leave one of the moms suggested that we all go to Azteca for lunch because they have really good margaritas. ;)  So off we went & I just stuck with my diet coke. But yes, we all needed a little something something to get through the rest of our days. Haha!

I love this picture because I was trying to get Gavin to look at the camera (we all know the kid doesn't cooperate with that), but then I laughed because he was trying to emulate the character blowing the horn. Haha! He really is the most observant kid I know. Love him.
The kid table. They all had so much fun being like little grown ups eating all by themselves. :) We had a great day with our school mates!
