The Shaw Family

Doug & I were married on October 6, 2005 in the Salt Lake Temple. We are currently living in the Dallas, Texas area. We have two sons, Gavin Douglas born September 18, 2009 & Liam Robert born October 14, 2011. We are so happy to be a family of four & love our boys so much! It is always one adventure after another in this house.

Last few days in Utah

So shouldn't be any surprise to hear that our connecting flight in Las Vegas was a few hours delayed due to weather. Seriously, we just couldn't catch a break with all the traveling we were doing. I was getting so antsy to get home & see my boys. We missed them like crazy!  Getting back to Grandmas house & squeezing on my littles just brought so much happiness to my heart. Our little family was reunited.

Love these boys with all my heart!

The boys became quite use to having daily soaks in Grandpa's hot tub while we were away. And they were so excited to show us!

Saturday was Kimmi's (Dave's wife) baby shower on her side of the family. They were sweet to invite me & Laura so that we could be apart of one while we were in town. The theme was Dr. Seuss Thing 1 & Thing 2. Super cute. I offered to bring cupcakes which prior to traveling sounded like a no brainer. Good thing for Sams Club as this was the morning after flying back into SLC. Haha!

It was fun seeing all the baby stuff that she got & hearing everyone's advice etc. I'm mad I never even got a picture of the mom to be. I'm lame. But yes, of course there is one of the dang cupcakes. :(
Liam loving on one of Kimmi's dogs. He could & did ride that thing like a horse. Haha!

That afternoon Dave & Kimmi wanted to hang out some more & we all decided to go get pedicures. Yes, men included. It was Doug's first experience getting a pedicure & I think it's safe to say he quite enjoyed it.

One evening the boys had on the boxing gloves & were throwing it down. Doug & I were right there guarding corners & objects as the boys bounced around. And yes, we didn't get there fast enough when Gavin pushed Liam into the corner of the staircase. Almost immediately his head started to bleed real bad. I was kinda freaking out at all the blood, but trying to stay cool for Liam. After cleaning we saw that it was pretty deep. We should have taken him in for stitches, but it was the night before we were to fly home. So Doug just used a steri-strip to pull it together after shaving around the area. Liam was a champ. I held him the whole time & let him watch the 'wiggles' on my phone and he never even flinched.
(Pretty blurry picture)
But we must say that this being the first casualty in 4 years of being parents isn't so bad. :)

Doug & I went to visit our friends Mike & Kelli who had just had their first baby boy that night & when we came home this is what we found.
Gavin was snuggled up to G'ma Shaw in our bed getting in some last snuggles before heading back to Florida. It was so sweet! These boys just love their G'ma & G'pa Shaw to pieces. It was such a fun filled trip & we were so glad that we were able to make it all work out. Until next time.
