Some of us moms have decided to start up our little Craft Group again now that school has started. It's nice having something for the little toddlers that are still at home & it helps kill some time when our older kids are gone. This was our first gathering at Britt's house. It was on a Tuesday so I actually had Gavin with me as he only attends preschool 3 days a week. But he loved it even though he was the oldest kid there. The theme was The Very Hungry Caterpillar. She read the book that had the most darling hand puppet to go along with it & then they got to make their own caterpillar. Liam loved the story, but wasn't too interested in the craft. But Gavin was & he did a great job!
Lately, the boys have been playing so well together. Ok, I'll be honest, there is still lots of fighting, whining etc., but they are engaging in one another much more. And Gavin is learning to be more patient & to teach Liam how to play with him instead of yelling at him for ruining things. They were playing in Gavin's room one afternoon & when I walked by to peek in I saw that they had built a tower for their 'guys'. I couldn't resist capturing a picture of this. So cute!
The same day I came back into the kitchen & saw the animal train all out & set up. Not sure which child did it, I'm assuming Gavin as the animals are in their correct cars. It just made me smile.
Liam so badly wants to be just like his big brother. One morning when I said it was time to take Gavin to school Liam ran to the door, grabbed his flip flops & put them on all by himself. This was the first time he's ever done so completely on his own. He was so excited to go to school too.
Look Ma! Cheese!
And as we were getting ready to go out the door he INSISTED on wearing his back pack too.
These two just melt my heart. They are both getting sooo big!
While Gavin was in school, I took Liam to another little group for toddlers called Mommy & Me Music. It's a small group of toddlers & moms that play & interact to rhythms, music, songs etc.
Playing with their rice shakers.
And a little story to go along with it. Liam loved it! It's so fun being able to focus on just him when Gavin's at school.
