February Happenings

As soon as January ended I got out all of my Valentines decorations as this is one of my favorite holidays. Okay, I love all holidays!

 I went to a craft night with some friends & we all made different banners for Vday. I love how simple & cute mine turned out. It was the perfect addition to my decor!

Pinterest is so fun to get great ideas from & I really hardly ever actually do any of those ideas. Am I alone in this? Anyhow, I saw this cute Kiss Me Countdown & knew it was something that I could & would actually do for the boys. It was super easy & they loved getting a piece of chocolate every day up until Valentines.

{Pinterest of left, mine on the right} I used heart shaped chocolates because I thought they were cuter. So it didn't really follow the whole 'kiss me' part, but I nor the boys minded one bit. :)

These two love to eat snack! Thankfully I can get them to snack on healthy foods like these tasty banana oatmeal muffins. Yum!

{SUPERBOWL}
Super bowl Sunday is always a day we look forward to. We were a little sad to missing out on our friends the Carter's annual Superbowl party up in Buffalo. Actually, not sure if they did it this year or not, but we still reminisced about the years passed. The game always starts so late so we opted out of having anyone over & just had a little party of our own. I went all out with the food & it was all sooooo good! Too good, because we made ourselves sick.
 Mac n Cheese, bacon wrapped water chestnuts, prosciutto wrapped asparagus, meatballs, mini tacos, chips & football cookies & brownies.

These two were quite the silly boys that night. They may have been more entertaining the the half time show. Haha!

{Hair}
I always Pin different hair styles, but rarely find myself replicating any. So one Sunday I decided I would give one a try. I was rather pleased with the finished look.

 On a different note, Gavin came to get me holding a handful of his own hair & with a proud look told me, "I cut my hair. All by myself!". I tried really hard to stay calm & I just couldn't believe that he did that. He cut three huge chunks out of the top of his head. I thought this sort of thing only happened when you had little girls. I guess I as wrong.

 I couldn't be too upset with that sweet face.

 Liam has been quite good about keeping himself busy. Not that he needs to much having a big brother and all, but when he does find some time to himself he plays very well.

Rub a dub dub dub...two cute boys in the tub!

I sure love it when I get some snuggle time with my boys. It doesn't happen often or long enough when it does so I cherish these moments greatly! Even if I get a little beat up too. ;)

{Gavin & Shayla}
Gavin always has lots of fun when we babysit his friends!

{Gavin & Solo}
I love that they are old enough to really understand & play memory. I did have to sit by them to regulate who's turn it was, but they did pretty darn good.

If Liam's up then Gavin has to be up. Well, according to Liam that is. He loves waking up his big brother! It's so sweet because he will pat & rub his back like in the top left picture & when Gavin responds in the slightest then it's full on body slam/hug & a little horsey ride action. Haha! And surprisingly, Gavin never gets mad about it. Brotherly love!

Captain America

Liam shopping at Costco incognito. :) Love those teefers!
Laura & I hit up the mall to look at & try on clothes. I hadn't tried on dresses in a long time & thought it would be fun. I sure did LOVE this one! The color, the style...too bad it was a little too short. :(

I've lost a lot of weight over the past little while & was excited when I tried on some jean capris I've held onto since college and they fit! I was instantly disappointed though when I realized they were SOOOO outdated & I was not about to wear them out in public. I was about to throw them out when I thought I should try making them into cutoffs. I didn't have anything to lose if the didn't work or were ugly cuz I was throwing them out anyways. Well...

What do you think? I just LOVE how they turned out. And I wear them all the time. Now I'm happy for two reasons. Yay!

The Monday before Valentines Day I figured it only appropriate to have a few vday sweets while we watched the Bachelor. Me, Lisa, Laura & Nicole get together every Monday to watch these silly/dramatic/crazy girls on their journey to find love with Mr. Sean Lowe. Haha!

  The best & most soft sugar cookies in the world! {thanks Steph for introducing me to these lovelies years ago}

 Gavin at his swim lessons using his kick sticks.

 Hey hot stuff! I really like your 'gaggles'! (as pronounced by Gavin)

One Sunday I decided to make some yummy cinnamon rolls for brunch. I love this recipe because it only takes an hour! And since I never think of cinnamon rolls until the morning that I want them, this is perfect for me.

 In Primary, the child that was suppose to give the talk wasn't there so we asked Gavin if he would like to bear his testimony. Without any hesitation he was up there & bearing it all on his own. Love my Gavin & his testimony!

Oh too much to say. I NEED a cinnamon roll now. :) Super cute dress. I still think you should have bought it! Too bad it wasn't two inches longer. Poor Gavin's hair!! It must have already grown back because I didn't notice it at all when we Skyped. And your Pinterest hair was adorable! I tried something like that recently.... Blah! You have the touch!
