The Shaw Family

Doug & I were married on October 6, 2005 in the Salt Lake Temple. We are currently living in the Dallas, Texas area. We have two sons, Gavin Douglas born September 18, 2009 & Liam Robert born October 14, 2011. We are so happy to be a family of four & love our boys so much! It is always one adventure after another in this house.

Utah Happenings

We left for Utah on Saturday December 15th. Our flights were good & the boys did surprisingly well. I was just thrilled to have Doug with me to help out. I would have been a nut case trying to do it all on my own. Haha!

The boys had fun watching planes out the window. Love this picture of my boys!

Me & my boys

I know I said they did good. And they really did for the most part. But this crazy man cannot hold still for a second! The poor passengers that sat in front of us were constantly getting their chair nudged. We really did try our hardest though. But thankfully, the boys are just super cute & won everyone over. At one point waiting to get off the plane, Gavin just broke out in song singing "Rudolph the red nose reindeer". It put a smile on everyone's face that was ear shot of his sweet little voice.

We were so happy to make it safely to Utah. And first thing was first....decorate G'ma Shaw's Christmas tree. She was kind enough to wait for us since we didn't put one up ourselves in Florida.

Gavin was in heaven putting all the decorations on.

And Liam was quite the little helper as well.

That night after settling in I was able to go see my dear sweet friend Emily. She was leaving the very next day so we just HAD to see each other! The few hours we got were wonderful. This girl really does mean the world to me & I'm so grateful for her. Her family is like my second family & it was so fun getting to spend time with them. They were so sweet & insisted that I stay for their big feast of a dinner too. Yum! How could I refuse. It brought back so many memories of doing just that back in the day.

We just talked, talked, talked & got in as much as we could. There really is something so great about being able to just pick up right where you left off with best friends.

I'm so happy that I got to squeeze in a visit with Em. It sure made for a great start to a wonderful holiday break!

~SNOW~
It snowed quite a bit the night we got there so it was perfect for the boys to go out & play. Gavin was thrilled to be out & could have lasted a very long time. Liam on the other hand liked it, but didn't want to do much with it. This was his first time being in the snow.

All bundled up!

G'pa & Dad helped Gavin build a fort/tunnel/North Pole. See the candy cane on top. That is what makes it the North Pole. Haha!

Gavin loved taking the dog Tiki out on walks. I wonder why? Oh because he got a sled right out of it from G'pa. This kid cracks me up!

All done & ready to come in for some nice hot cocoa!

Doug & I got to go out on a lunch date & to no surprise, we both wanted Cafe Rio. This place is our favorite & we miss it a lot! It's soooo tasty!
We also got to do our Christmas shopping since we didn't want to have to pack it all to bring. It seriously was the best day being with each other. I felt lucky & spoiled having Doug all to myself all day long. I sure love that handsome man of mine!

This kid sure loved playing with anything & everything he could get his hands on at G'ma Shaw's house. He has really been into dress up play lately & sure enough he found some things to wear. I couldn't help but laugh at what he came up with. Jammie bottoms, a magician cape, beanie & shirtless? And don't forget the apple in case he gets hungry. Haha!

Hat change. "This is THE one Mom!"

Liam better get use to getting the sloppy seconds. Good thing he doesn't seem to mind. May be a different story down the road. Especially in the girl department. tee-hee!

This was a cute snowman bean bag toss game. I'm not quite sure if he ever made one through the holes, but he liked being Mr. Snowman.

One afternoon we met my G'ma Faye or GG Faye as we call her now that I have kids for lunch. She chose to eat at Marie Callender's. We were the first to arrive & while sitting at our table waiting for her Doug & I glanced around the restaurant & then looked at each other & started to giggle. We were by far the youngest people in there. Hopefully our rowdy children didn't disturb all there peaceful meals. :)

Gavin was so excited to see GG Faye & give her our little Christmas gift. He wouldn't stop talking to her. She was a good sport about trying to keep up with his motor mouth. I had to laugh because my G'ma Faye & I were dressed almost identically. I wanted to get a picture, but she put her coat on before I could ask & I didn't want to make her take it off. But we were both wearing black pants, blue long sleeves with white vests. Hers was a white furry vest though. Much more stylish than mine. :) It was nice having some one on one time with her as that does not happen very often.
