Halloween

Halloween is such a fun holiday that I love to celebrate. There is always so much going on that it gets a little crazy, but in the end it's all worth the hard work & effort for costumes. My sister Laura hosted an Adult Halloween Costume Party. There was quite a good turn out & it was so much fun seeing what everyone came up with.

KISS {Devin & Lisa Graff}  Ceri & Derek Steele {Publishers Clearing House Winner}
Laura {Rosie the Riveter} Kimberly & Derek Flack {Mary Poppins & Bert} Cortney & Kadin Wilson {Gnomes}

Rozannah & Chris Trockel {Zombie Bride & Groom} Daniel & Holly Rudd {Reno 911 Officers}
Diane & Chad Mackay {Flapper & Gangster} Doug & Rachel {Candy Bars}

I usually always have an idea in mind for our costumes way before the month of October, but with the boys' birthdays both prior I just ran out of brain power & will to come up with anything creative. But after spending way too much time on the internet, I came across this idea of being candy bars. But not just any candy bars, an Almond Joy & Mounds to be exact. Not too exciting until we turn around that is. Haha! The costumes themselves were very simple, but extremely time consuming. I'm way happy with how they turned out though.

Of course we had lots of yummy food & played a few fun games, but I didn't manage to get any of that on camera. It was a great night spent with friends & one we always look forward to.

Ward Trunk or Treat
The party was suppose to be outside in the parking lot tail gate style, but of course the weather didn't hold as expected so it was moved inside to the cultural hall. No matter though to kids that are getting LOADS of candy for simply looking cute all dressed up. Everyone had a good time.

Gavin the {Friendly Ghost} and Liam the {Little Pumpkin}

Taking a few steps. Oh the things a babe will do for some candy! :)

 Gavin hanging out with the princesses. That's our boy!

 Solo {the Dread Pirate Roberts} I could not get over how stinking cute Solo looked. I believe he was supposed to be Zorro, but they didn't have a black cape so his mom changed character & it turned out perfect! His hair was even in a little pony tail in the back. Haha!
These two are quite the pair. They run around & play hard together. So fun!

The set up for filling their candy buckets.

Halloween Day

Before we set off for playgroup Gavin & I enjoyed a little snack of Oreos & milk. We are both dunkers!
I just love this little boy with all my heart & am so glad I get to be home with him.

And this little guy decided to be Dracula for a minute. Okay, a second. But I was really glad I was able to snap a picture before he pulled them out. Seriously so funny!

Gavin decided last minute that he wanted to be Super Gavin instead of a friendly ghost. We had the cape & mask, but I had no clue what to do about the rest of his attire. Thank goodness for duck tape! It seriously is what brought the whole outfit together & gave the complete super hero look. And I guess the tights & underpants helped too. :)

Hands down the cutest Super Hero I've ever seen! He LOVED it!

At the park they played some games & danced around & had fun on the playground. It was fun seeing all the kiddos costumes.

Liam just taking a seat to munch on a muffin. This boy loves food!

I didn't make these cupcakes, but thought they looked so cute! So creative.

A cheesy poser kind of super hero this one is.

That night our friends the Graff's joined us for dinner & then trick or treating in our neighborhood. We had mini meatloaves, garlic mashed potatoes, salad & lime sherbet drink.

 And I tried my hardest to replicate a frankenstein cake I pinned on pinterest, but it just turned out dorky. Oh well, it tasted good.

After eating we got the munchkins dressed in their costumes.

Seeing Gavin wearing these tights like this made us all laugh pretty hard. It could have been a costume in itself. Ha ha!

Gavin & Tynley were so excited to get candy! They did great going up to the doors & saying "Trick or Treat".
We saw the typical costumes out on the street & this lovely lady came by asking if we had seen her dog. It wasn't until she continued to walk past us that we understood the question & much better appreciated his creativity.

I was dying laughing! The kids thought it was a little weird, but us grown ups got quite a kick out it.
(Hence why I took a picture)

The Rudd's joined us towards the end & the kids all had a great time together. And they scored big on the loot too. People were giving out like 3 pieces to each kid. Score!

 Me & my Super Gavin

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Ahhhh! So much to say! This was the best post ever. Seriously so funny! The dog in the lady's bum.... for reals?!! That's hysterical. And weird. But so funny.
Gavin wearing tights?! You're right, it could have been a costume all on it's on. Best picture ever! I was laughing so hard.
You looked so pretty! Loved your outfit and hair.
Mounds and Almond Joy.... perfect! You guys always have the best costumes. And they looked so good.
I am also in love with Gavin's superhero costume! You seriously have the magic touch, lady. You put us all to shame!
