We hit up the Miami zoo on Saturday September 1st. It was our first time going down here in Florida & I don't think we will be returning until fall/winter. It was SOOO hot! And the animals were spread out real far so it took forever to walk. We had fun & Gavin loved seeing the animals even though I think we only saw a third of them.
Funny Monkey
I was a little shocked that Gavin was petting the farm animals. He is usually so timid when it comes to doing so. His expression tells me that he still is, but he is being a big boy. :)
Check out this orangutang! He is a beast. I have never seen one this big before. His face was ginormous! I felt bad for him though cause his hair was all matted & nasty. Yuck!
They had this at the exit of the zoo & we couldn't resist. Haha!
LABOR DAY
On Monday for the holiday we decided to drive a couple hours to Naples & Sanibel Island on the gulf side of Florida. We went with our friends Devin & Lisa Graff. The water was great because there were no waves so the kids played in the water the entire time. And there were tons of shells all over the beach so we had a good time collecting some. Lisa even found a couple live ones in the water with her toes. :)
Check out that white sand.

BEACH NIGHT
A bunch of friends got together Friday night to have dinner on the beach & play some games. This was our first time going to the beach in the evening & it was great!
Gavin could dig in the sand for hours!
And Liam could eat the sand for hours!
This is my friend Holly's little girl Kylie. She's a couple months younger than Liam. They sure had a blast munching on the gritty sand. Babies are so hard at the beach. Ahhh!

The most beautiful sky. I am really starting to love Florida for the beauty that lies here. We will most definitely be doing the beach nights again & again.

What a lovely day at the beach. Thanks for sharing - I love getting to see the boys and how they are growing and seeing how much fun you and Doug have with each other, your sons and your friends.
