The Shaw Family

Doug & I were married on October 6, 2005 in the Salt Lake Temple. We are currently living in the Dallas, Texas area. We have two sons, Gavin Douglas born September 18, 2009 & Liam Robert born October 14, 2011. We are so happy to be a family of four & love our boys so much! It is always one adventure after another in this house.

Our little man is getting so big! Especially his head :) He is going to be one smarty pants! :)
The doc said he is as healthy as can be & everything looked just perfect! One the way to the appointment I had a little chat with Gavin about how he was going to get some shots. I told him that the nurse is a nice lady & she just has to do her job. I told him it would only hurt for a bit & then you will forget. I'm not going to lie, I was a little nervous because Doug wasn't able to be there. But all in all, I'm rather glad he wasn't. Why you ask? Well because if he was there, I would simply be watching my babe get poked. BUT, I had to be the strong, comforting mommy! He did really well after the first poke, but then getting poked 2 more times just put him over the edge. He just cried & cried while looking at me like, "Why would you let this happen to me?" It broke my heart. The tears went away as soon as he got his bottle & then he just dosed off. Here are some pics of his battle wounds:

But my little guy is a trooper & was all smiles once we got home!

Here are some things about Gavin:
*He spits up a lot!
*He smiles all the time. Especially when smiled at.
*He loves to look at lights. I just put the lights on our tree & he was mesmerized!
*He grasps anything we put in his hands & holds on for a bit.
*He loves, loves, loves his baths! And is splashing around with his legs.
*He doesn't like tummy time!
*He started to sleep through the night. 10:30-7:30
*Is growing out of all his newborn clothes.
*Makes bubbles with his mouth.
*Likes watching TV (Doug said he takes that after me)
*Loves to snuggle.

Here a few random pics that I took that were just too cute to not put up.

Oh, it is hard to see your little ones get shots and cry but you were right when you told him it only hurts for a little while but that doesn't stop a mom's heart from hurting. Love all the new pics. Such a cutie - can't wait to hold him again.
